Do you mean move on for the rest of this season, or do you mean move on, period? If it's the former, I agree. If it's the latter, that would be ridiculous. Surely that's not what you meant.
I would have been very happy with Greene, also Lockett. I'm still hoping I'll be very happy with Smith.
Ah Harris forgot about him its been awile that was back in 2007.Best second round pick we have made since
I mean the Jets cant just pencil in Devin Smith as WR3 in 2016. Like Millner and McDougal, they will keep Smith on the roster and hope he can turn it around, but they will need to look for someone who can fill the role in free agency as Smith hasnt shown he can be the guy or stay on the field.
If he has a torn ACL he will likely miss all of next year so yeah we need to move in a new direction. It's usually a 12 month period to heal from that surgery- it's likely they put him on IR NEXT year so we might not see him until 2017. He's not enough of a talent to be counting on him 2 years from now. He's not our Matt Harvey missing a year with Tommy John surgery but counting on him the next year. If it's his ACL, I fear he's done as a Jet. _
Ugh, are you serious? The kid is 23 years old and really cheap through 2019, contractually speaking. Even if he misses all of 2016, he is far from done as a Jet.
I didn't say I was rooting for it--I love the kid. But if he misses all of next year--I am not counting on him being a part of the future in 2017. _
Exactly. He hasn't shown much of anything such that you pencil him in next year as a big contributor. But we can all hope. If he misses ALL of 2016? He's an afterthought in 2017. _
How can we waste another draft pick on a WR? We keeping taking them and their always dog shit. This upcoming draft it's LB and OL all the way, as long with another QB and TE. We can't waste a high round pick on WR unless we make a trade.
If Smith tore his ACL you go forward as if he is not part of the future and if he pans out it's gravy.
Kinda sucks that his biggest contribution as a Jet was a fumble off a bad decision kickoff return that led to a Buffalo win. And that game could determine whether the Jets make the playoffs. Talk about snake bitten.
You're looking at it wrong imo. What happened in the past was in the past, it's not now. While I agree that LB and OL are priority positions, if a great WR is there at any spot int he draft that's better than any LB or OL that's available, the Jets can't pass on him because of what happened in the past.
I wish the kid the best and hope he can come back strong and be a bigtime deep threat contributor. In the short term however, Thompkins is probably a flat out better player going forward.
Concur. If we can find a burner that can catch I think we need to think about it. A burner that could take the top of the defense would make this offense unstoppable. _
