Guessing he's in his early 20's? That town has been overrun by kids fresh out of college. I liked it a lot better when I was around 21-25. Lots of young chicks and an easier commute to work was worth it for those years. Got too old for it though. But your son will def have a blast there. Wouldn't expect him to be there for a long time though. Supposedly Hoboken has the highest move out rate of any NJ city for people in their 20's so I fell victim to that.
Silver cited that the Skyline would have been altered for residents east of their too. Follow the money, area residents with dough fought it tooth and nail. Countless jobs for people would have been created, along with infrastructure growth. Enjoy your payoff money, and your new digs you rat!
Yeah- out of school 2 years--wants to move to Manhattan or Brooklyn eventually. I like going to see him for the restaurants. Nice town but I can see how it's not a place to live for long. _
Yep a lot of Manhattanites were against it for the very reason of the skyline and their views (selfish bastids), but you can't blame them. I think Woody could have done a better job of getting buy in from politicians and the public, and done more to alleviate concerns/fears on the part of west side residents. I think it would have contributed a fortune to the city's tax coffers and residential and/or income taxes may have been able to have been lowered. Tieing it to the Olympics may have been a mistake as well.
I think its safe to say that none of us posting on this site today will live long enough to see a true Jets Stadium.
I've been out of NY state for 15 years and stories like this tend to slip through the cracks. I can see it though; alternate timeline with a beautiful stadium IN NY! ....and Jets fans would still find something to bitch about it. HA!
The location was vacant for quite a while, but a Garden State Ale house recently opened there. http://gsalehouse.com/east-rutherford-nj/
Do they make the Jesse Salad? And chicken parm that sticks out over the plate? With that incredible sauce? _
That stadium would have been amazing, instead we play second fidle to the Giants and have no identity. We are the only team in the league that shares a stadium
Not for long. The NFL is moving the Rams back to LA and are thinking of adding yet another team there.
Didn't pay attention much to the attempts to build a stadium proposal n Manhatten. But it seems like political machine just makes any kind of building project impossible. I've paid attention to NYFC'S attempts to find a home. And they are basically, "Fuck this! Will stay in the Bronx!" Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
