Stop. The comparison isn't even there and its not close. Geno Smith hasn't proved to have half the talent, football IQ, brain power or skills that RGIII has. RG3 has went to the pro bowl, lead his team to the playoffs, has a career 40/23 TD/INT ratio, a season of a quarterback rating over 100, and don't forget almost 1,500 yards rushing in his career including 815 his rookie year.

The comparison is insulting. Geno lost his starting job to Michael Vick who was demoted behind Landry Jones last year with a career 27/35 TD/INT ratio and barely a 3,000 yard season not to mention the routinely horrible plays of running out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage, taking sacks out of the pocket for 15 yard losses, and easy pick 6's on outs or screens.

RG3 has his faults but he's world's above Geno.

Of course RG is/was better than Geno. My initial point was the much of RG's success was based on his dual run/pass threat. I don't feel he can maintain that dual threat going forward, and if forced to 'play from the pocket' he may not be much better than Geno.

I just feel it's a great opportunity to get a blue chip prospect in a situation where he doesn't need to be the "saviour". Plus it's a system that favours his skill set and I don't think he will be very expensive.

Look at the players he had compared to Geno. Fitz had a career year this season because of the weapons he had. I'm not saying Geno would had better season but he played on some bad teams.

Geno fan yes but like I said he only been in NFL 3 years. RG3 been in 5 years and had every chance to prove himself with talent around him. Geno hasn't.

Geno had his shot in the Raider game to atleast make an argument.....he didn't .The only argument after that game was "What part of the bench should he sit on?"

Oh yeah one game this year is a really fair chance. I guess I could say Fitz had his chance to get the Jets in the playoffs but he blew it.

What should've happened in order for him to make an argument?

well, Geno DID throw for almost 300 yards and 2 TDs. For a backup coming in cold off the bench with a Defense that stayed home, this ain't too bad.

Can honestly see him going to the Cowboys. If Jerry hasn't secretly made a deal with him already.

If they were paid the same I'd take RG3 all day long.

As Geno is effectivly a freebie then you may as well keep him around to compete with Petty as we probably wouldn't be able to get any other Vet or project in for the pennies we pay him.

Sad day when a team keeps a qb because he is cheap. We shouldn't keep Geno for that reason. I do agree this should be his final shot at making the team and as a Jet fan I'll be rooting for him to be the qb that all the genobots want him to be. But I won't be holding my breath..

People wake up Fitz was the reason we lost to the Bills. He threw 3ints in the 4th quarter. One was in the end zone when the WR was covered. He doesn't throw that we kick a fg and take the lead.

What's the point of having this same discussion? It's been established that there is a double standard. God have mercy on Geno's soul if he threw 3 INT's late in a game with the playoffs on the line, all that "it was the defense, the receivers dropped passes, bad special teams" explanations wouldn't even exist. They'd just put the loss on him, despite those same factors existing.

The D couldn't get off the field on third down.....quigley shanked a punt 4 yards that lead to a td....Yea Fitz was part of it but the defense played terrible early on
