Yup. I think Amaro has seen himself as a slot WR. I think he's wanted to do what he did in college.

If he wants to block I think he can do it.

Half the battle in blocking is being willing to do it. And not begrudgingly.

    It's on him, we'll see.

Yeah...Gronkowski sets the bar pretty high.

Oh, how I'd love him as a Jet.

The advanced stats don't look good for Amaro. Hopefully he improves next year and hows he can make it here.

Hopefully he turns out like he did for me in Madden lol.....He started out at a 78 overall and is now a 90 after 3 seasons.Averages 10 catches a game and 1 TD......But let's assume that won't happen I think Mac has to bring in a real TE with whatever money is left after everything is done with Wilk,Harrison,Fitz and the RBs.

All fans can judge a player is on what the coaching staff sees in a player. If the new coaching staff isn't high on him( he's buried on their depth chart). It wouldn't be smart to count big on that player doing anything in the future. See Jeremy Kerely , who in the past was effective slot receiver.( this staff looking for a different type of Wr). There is a good chance he's cut . That isn't hate, but reading the situation correctly.

Jace Amaro for whatever reason is in the new coaches dog house. Might be time to see what you can get for him.

Personally, I think he's too big a pussy to want to be a blocker. It's pathetic, just like Cro. He has better size and strength than many WRs, yet he refuses to jam them or play real press coverage, and don't even mention his "attempts" at tackling. I wish we could get rid of both of them.

Yes, I know. I think Cro will be gone, but I think they will try to get something out of Amaro first if they can. If not, he will go.

Cro better be gone or we have virtually no money for free agency no? I could be mistaken about that tho

The thing about Gronk is despite all of the showboating as essentially a primadonna #1 receiver, he blocks well too.

Spot on, especially for a tightend. No one expects world class seal blocks or wide zone reach blocks to go get the All-Pro inside linebacker. It's mainly all drive blocking, throw a shoulder on a guy here and there. Mainly an effort and toughness check.

Nothing can be done in 2016. His contract is fully guaranteed. He can be cut following this season, and the Jets will save $7,333,333.

Zubin Mehta would certainly be a better beat writer than Manish Mehta; and he wouldn't have to crawl out of bed after spooning Rex Ryan just to write his columns.

I am seriously starting to think that. Unlike Devin Smith who literally has not had a fair chance, Amaro disappointed his rookie season and was obviously not impressing Bowles in the preseason. I am not sure whats wrong here, but it seems like he has no intensity on there on the field (Gholston syndrome).

This is Amaro's year to prove himself. No more waiting for multiple shitty seasons the way this team operated under Rex. Give Amaro one year to show he can be a positive contributor to this offense. If not, cut his ass and find a new TE. He's got the size and ability to be a solid TE. This is his judgement year.

As I've been saying on Enunwa all along, he needs to be a more reliable receiving threat if he wants a roster spot. Had some costly drops in crucial games this past season.

I would say after 2017 season. That is a good time for him to be cut. After this season yes Jets save 7 million ,but also take an 8 million cap hit. ( not going to do that) http://overthecap.com/player/darrelle-revis/980

This coaching staff doesn't consider him( Amaro) a Te( can't block), why he was so far down the depth chart.( Despite the fact the Jets are very weak at this position) . What does that say about Jace Amaro in their eyes.

So come training camp he suddenly gong to be in this organization good graces( this Fo didn't draft Amaro). It's nice to wish the Jets are going to get production from a former high draft pick. This is what happens when you change front offices - players that one Fo was high on, the new Fo doesn't like the player.
