a partial season with the texans wasn't fitz's best season. You can keep saying Hoyer is as good, but he's never played at the same level, partial texans season and all.

We will never agree on this. Hoyer is trash and is hopefully nothing more than insurance.

7 million isnt a slap in the face. fitz is a low level starter/backup who should be thrilled he got an opportunity to start here since there are few/any other teams out there with a spot for him to start. and its not like fitz took a cast of stephen hill and clyde gates to 10-6, the weapons and system around him were much more responsible then fitz was.

9-10 million no chance id offer that. honestly id stick hard at 6-7 M and if he walks he walks. he isnt very tough to replace and he is a short term option on a team with no realistic chance to contend and a likely ceiling of a team that just misses out on the wild card.

why are you so surprised by it? especially after hoyer matched fitz numbers from the year prior? there is a reason fitz has been on so many teams, only been the clear cut starter comingin once, and never played on a playoff team. and its not because he is some great veteran qb.

hoyer isnt anything himself, but he possesses all the ability that fitz does. and would benefit from gailey and the weapons we have the same way fitz did....

and he makes a good point. last year the jets first choice was hoyer over fitz. and the texas also chose hoyer over fitz. so clearly, they are at the very least comporable players

you keep putting down hoyer as if im saying he is some good player. im not. hoyer might be trash, but so is fitz, thats my point.

and fitz season last year wasnt better then his partial season with the texas if you extrapolate that over a full season. fitz did NOT have a good year last year. sure by jets standards it was good, but those are low standards. when you look at the league last year fitz was below average statistically.

we can not agree all you want. but fact is what hoyer did last season matched what fitz did on that same team the year before. and in all likelyhood he would match here what fitz did last year.

the only concern with hoyer is health. he is every bit the crappy qb that fitz is

buying the same model for cheaper is exactly what we would be doing with hoyer.

Fitz had a good season last year. He is obviously NFL starter quality.

Hoyer playing similar in a partial season with the Texans under a different offensive coordinator than Fitz did with the Texans has little to no correlation to how Hoyer would play under Gaily with the Jets.

Fitz had shown prior to the Texans that he's an average NFL starter under Gaily. He had his best seasons with him and continued that trend last year.

Hoyer is a nice backup QB who has never played at the level Fitz has for a season and probably never will.

    Stafford $17.7 mil
In today's QB market Fitz is worth at least $10 mil
    Tannehill $19.25 mil
    Osweiller $18 mil
    Bradford $17.5 mil
    Foles $12.25 mil
    Griffin III $7.5 mil
    Daniels $7 mil

QB is worth what market dictates. Fitz's market is only Jets.

Thus, Fitz is worth what Jets are willing to pay.

    Agreed

Fitz is borderline backup/starter material....he had a good season for us but the fact that no teams have given him much interest says it all

You are worth what you can get on the open market....and Fitz needs to accept he's in the same class as RG3/Chase Daniel. Maybe a mill or 2 more...end of story

he had an average season... 11th in TD passes, 21st in yards per game, 25th in completion%, 26th in QB Rating, 28th in interceptions. i dont know how you can say that is above average let alone good.
no, but it does show how hoyer played vs fitz on the same team a year later with nearly identical personel. and it was nearly identical output

he never showed he was an average nfl starter. best seasons yes, average no.
he played at fitz level last year. fitz is a backup as well

no he is worth what griffin and daniels got. as questionable low level starters... and fitz is much older which factors in, he isnt a long term solution.

a guy coming off an average season who is his age who is backup level doesnt deserve 10 million which is why mac wont give him that

15th in yards, 10th in TDs. Not bad for a backup, eh?

Fitz is absolutely worth what Chase Daniel got. Annual salary of 7M a year. Same with RG3, you are nuts. That's fair value and shouldn't really go higher.

Money Macc on Hoyer today "He's a good prospect". Doesn't sound too encouraging that they'll sign him based off of that.

He's coming off a better season than Tanny, Bradford, or Foles.

Why are you saying he's nuts, when you agree? He should have had a comma after "no" and that would have helped clarify, but he follows that with

15th is like the very definition of average. 10th in touchdowns, thats nice, it was the only state he wasnt average or in the bottom of the league and was offset by him having thrown the 6th most interceptions.

fitz didnt have a good season last year, it was at best average.
