Why wouldn't he last in NY? He was booted from SAN Fran because they have Frat boy running the team and his ego got in the way of the success of the team. Mac and woody would not care who is getting the credit if Harbaugh delivers a consistently competitive team, if he ever came to the jets.
Harbaugh would have to be an idiot to leave a place where he is the king of all he surveys to come here, where he would be coach of the team that is at best fifth in the pecking order in terms of people caring about what they accomplish (Giants, Mets, Yankees, and Knicks are all higher on the list).
Actually, Harbaugh is exactly the kind of HC this team need at this point. He has cache within the league and with the media. The Jets signing Harbaugh would be on par with the Jets signing Parcells decades ago. It would give this franchise instant credibility. That would be the perfect scenario for Woody's dream org chart. Harbaugh lets Mac know who he wants, and Mac goes and gets them. That would also sideline Woody and no matter whatever else happens with the Jets, Woody needs to take a vacation. A LONG VACATION. Besides that, imagine the acclaim if Harbaugh not only comes back to the NFL, but does it with the Jets and is successful. This place still is the media capital of the sports world and Harbaugh would be the big Shark in the Big tank here.. IF he's successful of course.
While I agree with pretty much everything you said, Harbaugh would have to be a fucktard to give up his gig at Ann Arbor to come here...but I'd take'em in a heartbeat
Or, his legendary ego just wouldn't let him pass the opportunity up.. Again, we're talking "King of New York" stuff here...
That's ridiculous, he totally overhauled the niners from garbage to one of the more dominant teams in the NFL, then that team promptly fell apart when he left!
