We all know Todd Bowles has his shortcoming/limitations like every coach. Was his perceived success last year a result of a weak schedule combined with a Fitz career year? Does he have what it takes to be a HC in the NFL or will he be a career Defensive Coordinator? I personally believe that Todd is best suited as a coordinator and that we should move forward with one of the following Jeff Fisher Fired today by the Rams. Fisher would want full player personel control and I Would give it to him. IMO he is a leader of men. He's a HC 1st and delegates/Intrusts his coordinators to lead their respective units. He holds people accountable. Mistake by the Rams to let him go. John Gruden Chucky is an offensive minded coach who would get the best out of a young QB. Does he have the temperament to be the head guy in NY? He's overrated IMO Mike Westhoff I've always love the old school approach that Westhoff believes in. You can't argue with his units results at every stop along his career. His special teams units won 2 games alone every year for us. Being the head guy is totally different then leading a bunch of guys trying to make the 52....or is it?
Jeff Fisher? Really? 5 playoff appearances in 22 years as a head coach? About to become the losingest coach in NFL history? You want him to reach that milestone as a Jet? Pass. Gruden is not likely to take a pay cut and live the 100-hour-week life of a NFL coach. He's probably a good coach, but his time is likely past. I like your idea of bringing in a HC with previous HC experience, just not these two guys.
Actually, he broke the losses record yesterday. Losingest coach in history. Gruden will probably never coach again. And who would want that douche anyway? Westhoff is older than dirt and just wants more money. His health predicates that we don't touch him at all.
I think Todd deserves another year to see if he can right the ship. He doesn't have to be on the cutting edge of football strategy or the best X's and O's guys. But he has to have a staff to make up for his shortcomings. Gailey and Rogers aren't good enough. I think Bowles is a lifetime coordinator. We should have gone after Quinn. At least the young talent is coming out.
Fisher tied Dan Reeves for most losses in NFL history. In other news, both coaches have lead their teams to super bowls in the past 20 years. Some hall of famers with similar years (20) of coaching have around the same amount of losses as Fisher. Not too concerned about that. Guy can coach
next year the team will look respectable against a dogshit schedule, still not make the playoffs and we will be stuck with bowels for another 3 yeas. fml....
Anyone who wants to give Jeff fisher a head coaching job in this league in 2017 needs their fuckin head examined
No, he can't. He might be a good caretaker with a team of superstars, like he had in Tennessee, but otherwise he is 7-9 every year.
Jeff Fisher is a leader of men who holds people accountable and who you would gladly give "full player personnel control" to, but Chucky is overrated. K.
Any of the three looks perfectly fine as a downgrade from Todd Bowles to me. Should we call Kotite as well while we are at it?
If they didn't both suck at coaching, why isn't CHUCKY making seven figures and challenging for an NFL title? Would it be that he doesn't want to deal with the stress of coaching a team, and the fact that he's comfortable where he is? The guy flaps his gums every week with separation from any sort of accountability. Who really cares what he says?
how about an offensive head coach? been like forever since we tried one. kyle shanahan. doing pretty well in atlanta. who better to develop both petty and hackenberg?
He'd have such a great situation with the Jets. Two GMs fired in four years, a hot coordinator canned after two years, who wouldn't want that cush job? Total autonomy, right? What fucking planet do you live on? I want to live on a planet that is totally disconnected from reality. Your planet seems pretty fucking cool.
