This is the CS real test. 2015 was a mirage and 2016 we had a tougher schedule, 2017 looks tough too but we need to start making strides forward. This isn't the time to stagnate. Get rid of our dead weight and get some guys that actually want to win and will give the effort required to win more than 4 measly games.

This year should teach people that predicting strength of schedule is impossible. That "muderer's row" turned out to not be anywhere as difficult as it looked. We just sucked.

Of course we'll still get threads in May about how the schedule is ridiculous.

 

If Bowles is retained we would be lucky to win 2 games

 

I see perhaps 2 wins off that schedule which is good for our 2018 draft positioning. Cleveland & Jax are the only teams that are beatable by the Jets.

Anyone want to come to NO, and TB. Those are my two road games next year. this year was as disaster as I shelled out wayyyy too much money for @ AZ & PITT

 

we need a big offseason. specifically O line and secondary (which by the way, with our draft we should be able to get the best LT and Guard in the draft). We can be more competitive. With Free Agency you can rebuild quickly. These last two Mac drafts need to pay out. We can be right there.

 

Wishful thinking ... If the Jets had any kinda luck at all, some of what you say could happen.

O absolutely. As a Jets fan we go through life cycles.

Starting in April with the Schedule, I get happy, May annoyed when we actually draft 1-AA O lineman or WRs from a triple option school, sprinkled in with the occasional tweener at OLB/DE. Come June with OTAs Im optimistic reading about the development of John Doe as an edge russer, August- Preseason I get worried because the offense never clicks, our safety is taking bad angles coupled with poor communication. September Again im optimistic because ___ opponent has health issues coming out of preseason. October- Disgusted by the last 2 years draft class by , and the lack of improvement. November I start calling for a new head coach who is clueless. December I'm back in optimism mode for the opponenets. Before Christmas someone has a post about how we can shed bad contracts, and will have plenty of cap. January feeling great about signing _____. Feb /March im in hot stove baseball mode.

 

Sounds like you got this down to a science..

 

I don't know if I can be subjected to an extra game next year, 16 is enough.
