In the replay you can see Brady leaves his feet and Hobson just makes a tackle, but watching it live on the field you can see a different thing, and you don't get to watch it over again. I don't think it should have been RTP, but it wasn't the worst call I've ever seen.
This is one of the few times I will actually say that the 15 yards and loss of the INT may have been worth it. It was great watching Brady get bone crushed by Hobson. Oh, it was a really bad call, too. I would not tell Hobson to change a darn thing.
I will never understand why all calls aren't reviewed upstair. The upstairs crew can buzz downstairs when such an obvious blown call is made.
if you check league history, teams get away with a lot of stuff if your head coach ( noll), general manager ( shula) or owner (kraft) sit on the competition committee.:shit:
From now on when you play the Jets the QB gets to wear a red pinney because you can't him. I'm sick of these refs calling garbage penalties on us. It's football let them play..... Where was the offensive PI right before the half and oh yeah how about the non false start and delay of game call on the same play before the half?
They should just avoid all this nonsense and say that the quarterback need only be two-hand-touched to be called down, because more and more every year, the rules that apply to every other phase of the game dont apply to the quarterback.
I agree. Roughing the passer and roughing the kicker should be tacked on after the play and possesion should not change.
Does anyone have a clip of the Eric Barton roughing the passer? I'm arguing with a Pats fan who thinks that was actually the right call. Better yet, if someone has the time and really wants to do it... can you put together a mix of all of the roughing passer penalties, with Vilma, Barton, and Hobson?
i think this may have pissed me off even more. not only do the Pats get the ball back + 15 yds, but they also get 3 points when the half should have ended on 1 of 2 penalties in the same play! i couldn't believe how blatantly the refs ignored that. cheers
Unbelievable... I'm arguing with a Pats fan now.... No clips huh? The Ellis hit at the end of the game looks worse.
I think i read mangini is going to send the hobson clip to the NFL along with a clip of Bruschi helmet to helmet hit that didn't get called.
I was actually waiting on a flag on that one too. Of course, Ellis was held and it wasn't called either, so it evened out I guess.
how about the coaches teaching the damn players the rules! You simply can't pick the q-back up and drive him into the ground. I didn't like the calls either, but the rules state...! Teach the damn players the rules!
