this is in another thread,,but I am putting it here as someone mentioned it and I heard it also,,first off I am all in on Sean Peyton if we can get him ,IM all in not even thinking twice but I stray,,,,,on WFAN last nite Steve Sommers said the Mike Holmgren was on "F A N a few weeks ago and is friends with Woody and said on air that he would be interested in working for the Jets in a variety of capacities even qb coach " ,,,,,,HAD ANYONE ELSE HEARD THIS LAST NITE OR WEEKS AGO ? In keeping with the thread , they can bring in whatever players they want and try and talk up this years draft and even get Romo or another qb but if Bowels is back I have almost zero interest in Jet football next season and it will be full speed to Fantasy Football and DraftKing teams and apple and pumpkin picking and all other family fun . It will be a weekly family fun fest rather than watch this guy in over his head again,,,ps its hard to judge the schedule because anything can happen but me thinks next years opponents look rather formidable ,,just sayin

When you haven't had success in 50 years and the franchise has over and over been the poster child for ineptness I think it's wrong to call the fan base impatient. If you've been a fan of this team for 10-20-30-40-50 years, you are WAY more than patient. I don't think it's wrong to demand success as soon as possible

I think you are mistaken when you say everyone loved Bowles last year. I think most fans saw a winning team despite a rookie coach that was tentative, made a ton of mistakes, and did not have the team ready for the biggest game of the season. However we were willing to give him another year based on the winning record and if anything he regressed this year. We're tired of regression. Send him packing

Are you serious? Have you ever watched the jets under Bowles? I do not consider 5 total embarrassments this year, two of which were on national television "one lousy year." Instead of thinking that 2016 was the exception, maybe you should consider 2015 as the exception. Exactly WHAT has Todd Bowles DONE as a coach that has impressed you?

--punting against Pitt down by 11 at the 46 yard line with 7 minutes left, with a D that had not stopped Ben R. all day?
--going for a one point conversation against Buffalo up by 12 in the 4th quarter? (A one point conversion does you no more than a missed 2)
--kicking a FG against Pats when down by 41 points (that'll get us more closer)
--Presiding over a locker room where guys punch each other, snapshot profanities before games, call out other players efforts, miss team meetings and call each other "embarrassing" (great control, Todd)
--Playing a washed up 6- team journeyman QB almost all year when the rest of the planet would have benched him after his 4th pick (out of 6) in KC
--Playing a washed up CB all year because he doesn't have the balls to bench washed up veterans
--hiring and keeping a DC who wants to bring back the washed up CB next year
--monotone after every huge loss "We have got to play better." (Ya think?)
-- have his players call out the team's medical staff for ignoring injuries
--call a timeout late in the half to give Brady time to stick it up your butt with one last TD before half

You're right. Bowles has done a great job. I am sure when the new schedule came out this week, other teams/coaches shuttered at the prospect of playing a Todd Bowles "team" (if you can call this outfit of uninspired, outcoached, and unmotivated players under Bowles a "team").

Give him another year? How much LESS incompetence/lack of control does a coach have to show to get fired? Oh yeah, the rule is never fire a coach after just two years. Right--let's wait until we are 1-5 next year and then change in the middle of the season. Sounds like a typical jets approach, because Todd Bowles has done SO MUCH to inspire this team!

What a bunch of crap. Most people hated Bowles last year and felt this team won despite of him and got a lot of breaks on the way to that 10-6 record. The conservative nature, not having his team ready to play in Buffalo, refusing to double the opposing teams best players (Watt, Watkins, Hopkins), piss poor time management, and now this year his players have stopped playing for him. He's a god damn joke and I would love for you to dig up all these people who loved him. You would be hard pressed to find a handful....

This is true, however the soonest possible success may well take a couple of more years of pain to achieve.

Or it's possible that we can just go with aspirin-level pain swings from mediocre to lousy and back again because everything changes every few years and each new change is accompanied by a fresh free agent splurge to make the new regime look as good as possible right off the bat.

I'm not interested in Cleveland Browns level ineptitude but an honest rebuild would go a long way towards making me a happier 47 year fan and getting the #1 pick in the right year seems like about the best way to make that rebuild work.

Draft the best tackle next year plus another tackle in the mid-rounds and set up to take the QB in 2018.

I don't understand this notion that the Jets are a team in constant turnover with an owner that seeks to make changes every couple of years in search of competency. Herm got five seasons, Rex got six. Tannenbaum got nearly a decade to work his magic in the front office and Bradway even got to stay on board after being demoted out of the GM spot.

Woody has been patient, almost to a fault. The one time that he wasn't, when he fired Mangini after only three seasons and a promise of job security, was a mistake, and I think that that's what's guiding this boneheaded decision not to part ways with Bowles now.

He wasn't Belichik the Genius he was Belichik the Genius DC who everybody knew was going to get another shot at a top job eventually.

Because he was so young in his Cleveland HC days he was still young when Parcells helped him rehabilitate his image and the Patriots stole him from us.

To be fair we had stolen Parcells and Curtis Martin from them so complaining about them poaching Belichik from us is silly.

Relax guys, all Bowles needs to have another winning record is a cupcake schedule, a QB who has a career year and sets franchise records while the team remains relatively injury free to their core players. Give him those unlikely events and he can coach his way to a winning record - no playoffs, but still...

And even last year they could not wait to give all the inferior coaches contract extensions. Then Bowles hires his buddy to be our special teams coach and we have the worst special teams in the league. It is no different than hiring his old buddy to be the DC who is as clueless as they come. We need a coach who is passionate, aggressive and a teacher. Jim Harbaugh. Go get him Woody it is the least you can do otherwise there will be crowds of 30K fans next year with 20K being for the opposing team.

Even if Bowles stays another year he's gone afree 2017. The schedule doesn't allow many east wins. He's up against a wall and the coaching staff and players don't help him any.

    Plus a million Post tomdeb

You guys have to start to think like Bellicheat

    Focus on the immediate NOW

So what have you got ??? An awful FRAUD of a coach who cant even figure out a time out but orders field goals as "offense", terrible D, players fighting, Kotite comparisons , total disarray!!! AND YOU WANT THIS MANAGEMENT FOR ANOTHER YEAR FOR THE SAKE OF CONTINUITY???? Moronic!!

The 10-6 year showed me a dummy coach and DC who hardly had to think with a easy sched ...when they did some thinking it went nowhere...poor game management LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR

"oh give Bowles more time..." OH NO

Young Fans don't get we older guys having been waiting a half a lifetime for a Jets resurgence... It doesn't bother me a bit to have turnover as long as experienced Coaching and Management is put in place

Insanity is jus doin the same thing with same people....failing again over and over

AND YES Woody loses the fanbase bringing back TB.....so be it

But often the same decision that will appease fans is a decision that will have a positive impact on the team. So, the guy needs to make good solid football based decisions - the fans will follow.

Utter BS. Bad fan base, my ass! Yes, we have some idiotic fans who are masochists and who can't see the forest for the trees, who think that continuing to do the same things in the same way will result in improvement or different results.

iirc woody wasn't in charge yet when beli left for new England. it was the fact that things were up in the air still that made him leave. and he made a really fucking good choice. face it as much as Robert kraft is a cock hole he is a really really good owner. he makes good decisions and has a basic thought process and philosophy for his franchise.

they have been good since he has been there.

and what a dick he is in the way he acquired the team.

When are the 'I'm done with this team' sob stories going to stop? Don't watch, and don't by the products. There's 250,000 other fans (obviously low-balled number) in the Tri-State area and around the county that will.

Woody doesn't care about the 350 crybabies on this forum who declared they won't support the team if X guy is back or Z coach is retained. Like you're actually enduring pain and suffering.

We're here to discuss football and have fun with it. Not whine like a 16 year old rich girl who didn't get the BMW X5 for her sweet sixteen and instead got a Honda Civic.

It's unbelievable already. Half the fan base is gone if Bowles comes back? Lmao.

Cut the shit already with these threads.
