Anyone just see the interview with Chad on NFL. Bob Costas interviewed him and questioned him on what critics were saying last year after the second shoulder injury, and his turnaround this year. He was typical Chad with his talk of perseverance and motivation, he looks pretty unflappable and focused right now, good to see. Carter took back his "water pistol" for an arm comment and spoke about how he likes how Chad has worked on his flaws and weak areas to improve his game. Colinsworth says the Jets are very very good (Chad particularly) at getting the ball out and not getting sacks, and that will help them this week against the Bears because they will get frustrated with the lack of pressur, knock downs and sacks.....lets hope. They all think the Jets can play with the Bears, but none would go as far as to pick um. The interview with Chad was solid, prolly be somewhere on the web by tomorrow, i will look around.
He def did. This is what I meant by they, or at least he, thinks the Jets can play with um. I like being the underdog.
I saw the highlights from the game & that was too quick. I mean I know it didn't have alot of scoring, but there were some pretty damn good plays. They didn't even show the strip that led to the 19 play, 60yd drive for Barlow's Touchdown. The bad roughing the passer call on Barlow that negated a interception. Great interview by Bob Costas with Chad. Cris Carter finally makes a logical and adult crtique of Chad Pennington. We don't need name calling on a such a prestigous show as Inside the NFL. Let these guys pick the Bears to win, because if the Jets can force them to get out of a rhythum then they will take the win. Please tell Marino & Carter that the Pats are going to lose on Sunday to the Packers. I smell a tie for the top division in the AFC East.
I hate beetlejuice Carter, he's always been overly critical of Chad. I don't know how Carter has a job as an analyst, he provides nothing to the show.
I agree 100% about the highlights, could have spent a bit more time. But, they used that time to speak with James Pennigton.
I hope you are not talking about his comment regarding the Jets having to throw over the middle because of his lack arm strength. When I heard that I almost went through the TV set to rip out Carter's voicebox. Until this year we NEVER.....wait I stand corrected we HARDLY EVER, properly used the middle of the field. You could count on 1 hand the amount of crossig patterns and screens we ran under Hackett and Heimin..idiot. Everything was to the outside of the numbers. Also, what the hell does a 3 step drop have to do with Chad's arm strength. 3step drops are used do to the lack of protection...something we have not had to worry about this year. Then finally, they show the TD pass to Moss in the SD playoff game...thrown about 55 yards in the air to hit Moss in stride. Oh and BTW Chris that was thrown with his arm NOT COMPLETELY HEALED..... so they come back to this idiot and his only comment is about his lack of arm strength. How about talking about his pressence in the huddle, how he rallies the team, how the offense has had a better flow with him at QB..... Chris Carter is a ASS.
penny is not the answer, he can't throw more than 20 yards with any degree of accuracy. He is just saying what people want to hear! He is done, cut him loose!
Exactly. People want to hear that the Jets have a Water Pistol QB in Pennington, but while that water pistol arm was injured in the playoff game against San Diego he still threw the ball 50+ yards when it was officially a 50yd TD throw. Just like the TD catch to Cotchery. 22 yds officially, but he threw it 27yds away. People won't give Chad credit, but that's o.k. because he showing everyone right now that he is going to be better than he ever was.
he's done! Don't look at the 5 passes he completed, look at the wobbly throws he makes. He might squeak by this year, but is the man you want when there is 2 minutes or less, and you need to throw that deep pass to win the game?
