The "classic" Jets unis are "timeless" in your opinion and some others of us here. I love them too, except I've never cared for the dumb football-shaped logo on the helmet. But obviously, not everyone thinks as we do, that's why the unis have changed over the years. The Packers, Colts and Steelers all have proud traditions and good reason to hold onto their traditional unis. The Jets don't have that proud tradition. If the team is going to wear those uniforms, then imo they need to earn that right with great play. As long as they play like some half-assed middle school team, then they should have to wear something else.
Tremendous, well done, and you are so damn right with everything you wrote. It is amazing to me that this franchise has one of the best looks in the game, yet they fail to realize it, muddy the color the green they're supposed to wear, and add Arena League green pants to the set. Someone call the marketing department and tell them to wake up. Oh, and for those bitching about our colors only being green & white? STFU. It is what it is, the NY Jets are green and white, always have been, always will be...hopefully.
I don't know, because it's hard to tell what colors are accurate in these pictures of the unis on the web. Depending upon the number of pixels and colors our monitors have to the processing of the photos from the '80s, it's hard to tell if a color is accurate. In the picture you reference, I don't remember the Jets unis ever actually being that color, but more of a Kelly green.
Obviously, I disagree. I think the helmets with an actual jet on them as the logo looks a LOT better.
LOL That "shark fin" is the tail of the Jet. It's a sleek Jet. Of course, with the way the Jets play offense, perhaps a dirigible or hot air balloon would be more apropos.

You made the claim that every team had updated their uniforms since the 80's and I used the Packers, Colts and Steelers to prove that was false - had nothing to do with proud traditions. Name the team whose 'tradition' includes walking into a division foe's stadium and receiving a prolonged standing ovation from THEIR fans?....something so extraordinary that it bucked tradition?
