People are calling for Penny to lose his job, and Champ is busy bashing D'Brick, well we should be talking about dumping Leon too. Yesterday, his first rush was for nine yards. He finished the day with 13 carries for 22. He must really suck! Or maybe we should dump Mangini. Only a total assclown would try that onside kick to start the second half. We should actually start by tossing out Schotty Jr. What terrible preparation he had for this game. How dare he not have a flawless plan in place to beat the league's best defense? WTF does he get paid for? Justin Miller is another waste. We expect him to get us critical TDs off of kick returns. What happened yesterday? We ended the game with a goose egg, so obviously Justin wasn't getting it done. And how about Mangold? Sorry pal, you are the center for the NY Jets. No excuses, that penalty may have been the last straw I am willing to put up with from you. Let's not stop pointing the fingers, there's more blame to push around. What does Ben Graham get paid to do? Punt. That's it. (Fine, he catches snaps for Nuge, but big deal.) He can't manage to put enough air under the ball for Smith and Rhodes to get down there and down it inside the one? WTF Ben? Stop being a loser! And while Nuge is fresh in my mind, why didn't he nail some FGs this week? This is ridiculous now. What about our secondary? Allowing Chicago to score on a passing play? HOW DARE YOU? It should have been 10-0 the other way. ------------------------------------------- Whoa now. Wait a second. Let's ignore that I am firmly convinced we got a raw deal yesterday. Let's just go on what we have for our team, nothing more. Chad is still the best QB on our roster. You can love him or hate him. He had a bad day. It happens. You'd be crapping your pants too if the league's best defense was trying to feast on you. Leon had a lackluster day. So did Barlow. Houston was okay in his return, but he wasn't exactly "electric cedric" either. Let's try to keep in mind this was Chicago, a team many thought could go undefeated this year. Maybe Mangini tried that onside kick to spark something? It worked in the past. But whenever we fail, it's obviously the end of the world. Schotty coached a good game. We drove on Chicago. How many teams can stand toe-toe- with that defense and survive? I just thought the Miller comment would be amusing. Same for Mangold. Yeah, the Ben and Nugent ones too. We only gave up 10 points to the the NFC's best offense. The Giants, though battered, are still supposed to be better than us on D. I'd say we were far more respectable against the Bears than Big Blue was a week ago. Here's an idea. Why don't we try enjoying the fact that we are significantly better than anyone except RobA thought we would be at this point. The vast majority of this board was predicting 4-5 wins this year. Well, we already made it. And unless we manage to play like clowns the rest of the way, we have games against Houston, Green Bay (possibly without Favre,) Buffalo, Minnesota, Miami and Oakland, we can conceivably win another 4-5 games. I gotta call bullshit/nonsense on this one Alio...but real quick...Ive been disagrreing with everything youve been sayin lately...its not personal bro....youre equating our criticism of Chad to criticism of a first year coach or first year center/tackle and first year running backs..thats silly dude. Plus it isnt one bad game for Chad as you said....he has had a miserable season. period. More INT'S than TD'S is basically the worst spot you can be in as a QB....its like a pitcher with more hits allowed than innings pitched. It is not acceptable. And I think the history of Chads injuries and up and down career certainly make him fair game to criticize after a brutal, disgusting performance yesterday. If someone got on here and ripped mangold or brick or Leon...then that would be retarded. But you cannot lump Chad in that category. and you know it, so really there was no reason for me to point it out......
what a misleading title!!! i was ready to let loose on you Alio.... GREAT POST!! lets all crap on the jets now.... im inclined to blame curtis martin...im not sure why though
I will never be able to understand how Yankee/Jet fans tick. At least the ones that despise A-Rod and defend Pennington. I mean, I understand the idea of lowered expectations given the Jets history but really how does this happen? How can you have "win a WS or bust" philosophy when you're watching one sport and settle(in some cases be estatic) for mediocrity in another?
I can't stand it. Lots of people predicted we'd be lucky to get 3 or 4 wins this season. We're at five wins and counting and some are still bitching. Get it, guys, were a middle of the pack team that is headed in the right direction. We're not winning a SB this year. Mangini has us improving each week, that's all you can ask for. Da Bears are one of the best teams in the NFL and for us to beat them everything had to work right, like it did last week. That's not going to happen every week. I'll take 9 or 10 wins this year and if they have another good draft and get some free agents (much more likely now that we're seen as a team on the upswing) we can go a lot further in 07 or 08, even with the harder schedule we're sure to have.
Jonnyd, really quick turn around, that's the joke that just flew way over your head! Hurry, before you miss it completely.
 Blame Curtis...that was funny! I blame the Patriots! How dare they let us win only to get beat out by the BEST D IN THE NFL!
What joke? I read your post(and others where you said that you didn't think Pennington played that bad and he didn't cost them the game). If you had just made the joke post without attempting to invalidate the Pennington criticisms with your ridiculous examples I wouldn't have commented.
Good post. And you're right, we are improving and are probably a little ahead of schedule in the rebuilding process than expected. I think the Front Office and coaching staff will lead this team in the right direction for years to come. The one glaring question mark is the QB position. Do you think Chad can eventually lead this team to a SB? If not, when do you bench him for your future QB? Do you continue to start Chad in a non-playoff year to get some wins under our belt or do you get the rookie some experience and look to '07? I don't think it's unreasonable to want to start Clemens at this point as the playoffs are extremely unlikely and I think carry-over wins are overrated.
I've also been very vocal that I am not a Leon Washington fan. Does that mean my thread title was serious? No, I don't think Penny was as bad as people such as yourself believe. However, that doesn't change the purpose of this thread.
dude, obviously I see the sarcasm...but I also see youre willing to just write this loss off to us having low expectations. If there is an even wittier joke in there then Im retarded and please explain...If not Im still saying the post is bullshit because the rationale of your sarcasm is flawed. please help
