We lost yesterday, but we are making improvments.

KC is 6-4 but play Denver, San Diego, Baltimore, Jax as well as at browns and at raiders. Raiders took the chiefs down to the wire yesterday on the road.
Jax 5-4 they play the giants tonight, colts, pats, kc as well as at miami and at buffalo.
Cincy 5-5 play balitmore, colts, steelers, denver, at browns, and raiders.

Jets 5-5 play Texans, Bills, and Raiders at home and at packers, vikings and dolphins.

We have the easiest road, and if we "are" a playoff team we will need to go 5-1 in that stretch.

Cheer for the Giants tonight and Denver on thanksgiving. If that happens we will be tied for the 6th seed with a win over houston.

Interestingly enough we are only one game ahead of the Phins and Bills, and play both down the stretch. Were only one game ahead of Pitt as well.

Its a tight playoff race as usual, I'd say it will clear up in about 6 weeks.

    Playoffs

Just stop already! There's no way we should be talking playoffs.

Unfortunately, we're not a mature team mentally/physically yet. Therefore, no game for us is "easy". I believe the most points we've won by this year is 8. I see us going 3 and 3 the rest of the way. The Dolphins now look tough, Raiders D is good and we know how Penny peforms under pressure, we have to play in a cold and windy Labeau Field against the Packers, and we all know Penny's arm strength limits....there are too many ifs.

    Why?
    Every game left is winnable.
Plus, you play to make the playoffs, right?
If we were 3-7 -- there would be much less interest.

As for me, Im basically rooting against Cincy, KC, Jax, Pitt etc the rest of the way.

    Playoffs? Playoffs?
    Yes, playoffs.

What is wrong with you? If Jax loses tonight vs Giants and KC loses to denver, a win over houston puts us back in the 6th seed.
Say what ever you want about houston and the raiders, but they are 3-7 and 2-8. They are not good teams. I rather have them on our schedule than Denver and San Diego.

If we were 4-6 or worse at this point, I would say we would have no chance, but we do not have a hard schedule, in fact we have the easiest remaining schedule in the NFL. If that doesnt give you hope, then you arent a fan.

Here a couple things for you to consider, The AFC East is really down this year and the fact that AFc East plays soft schedule(very weak NFC division)
You put the Jets IN AFc West(alot stronger divison) and what would there record be.
I Know alot of Jet fans are estatic about going 1-1 against Bears and Patriots. Why? This isn't a chamionship caliber team of years past for patriots and the Bears are not that great(more a product of a very soft schedule). Neither Patriots or Bears will be around long enough for their respective conference championships.(take that do the bank)

YES you go by just the records, the Jets have a very favorable schedule down the stretch. JMO Jets aren't that good and theres no way they go 5-1 down the stretch. They are not beatin the Raiders. FRaiders defense will shutdown Jets offense. Playing IN arrowhead is a little more scary than playing in the Meadowlands.

The Jets have to get the job done and win consistently against bad teams. If they can do that, they will go 5-1 or 6-0 and make the playoffs.

My two cents on "talking playoffs"

I can understand both sides, BUT:

If this were 2005 (when we were picked by some to go pretty far) and we were 5-5 at this point of the season with the same schedule ahead of us, then everybody would be talking about how it is still quite possible that we make the playoffs.

So why is it such a difference just because we were picked to be a lot worse then we actually are?

For me, I'd much rather be aware of the playoff picture so I can root against the teams that we will be competing with. I don't see what's wrong with that.

Record wise you are better and are your team still playing for something. Jets are not better than the raiders. (talentwise not even close) Lets see Pennington or Jets offense do anything against the Raiders defense. Raiders last two weeks against Denver and KC(In Arrowehead were leading ther game for most of the game) Had a chance to win the game late in both. Dever Players admitted they were extremely lucky to win the game.
First and goal at eight with 32 seconds left yesterday, before A Brooks threw an interception to end the game. Like i alluded to Arrowhead is alot more daunting than coming to the Meadowlands. Hey your entitled to believe the Raiders will be an easy win for you, but lets see if that the case.
Raiders win this game pretty easy.

This, again? How many times must I tell you that the Jets will beat the Raiders? I've been telling you this all year.

So much for Andrew Walter, huh?

The Raiders are a joke even though they were competitive against the Chiefs. C'mon you can't be serious comparing them to the Jets. There is no way that you guys beat us at the end of the year. You may have some talent but you have a team full of prima donas who don't want to play. Both your wide receivers are babies who can't even catch a pass. I like Lamont Jordan but it hurts you that hes out for the year. And your QB sucks, period. There is no way you can compare the two teams

Hey you can say what you want now but lets see what you say after the game. Please no excuses.

Right now behind raiders Oline, you want a more mobie QB than A Walter. We will see about Walter when Oline starts to play better.

We probably have posts going back to February talking about the Raiders at Jets 2006 game, way back before there was a specific date for the game.

There will be no excuses if the Jets lose. Unfortunately for you, it will not come to that.

I await your excuses. Hopefully, we'll see them in the late afternoon on December 31 as opposed to you going in hiding for a few weeks.

RE: Walter. Today while driving to work I was thinking about what excuse you would use for Walter being benched for Aaron Brooks. Yeah, you went the route I thought you would.

There is a good chance this could be your same excuse for when the Raiders lose to the Jets. "the line wasn't good enough for A Walter 6'6" 233 4.9 40 to play even though he is the next great NFL quarterback. this game didn't really matter to the Raiders. the Raiders are still better than the Jets. they will be back next year and will go a minimum of 11-5."

In looking at the Raiders schedule to date, it's reasonable to believe the Jets would still have a 5-5 record right now.

Here the facts, IF Arron Brooks(veteran QB) was able to play in all 10 games. Raiders easily would have been 5-5. No doubt about it. Raiders defense has been very good all year. Likewise what you think Jets record would be if they went with inexperience K Clemens.

second Point. Raiders have way more talent at skill positions than Jets. Not even close. Raiders due to problems on Oline, going with young inexperience QB and fact that offense scheme is outdated. That has more to do with raiders problems on offense and why Raiders talent players on offense haven't done anything.
Jets defense isn't even half as good as Raiders defense.
