May not be a bad idea. Keeping an eye on Petty as he runs Morton's system really for the first time is good. Keeping the kid level headed and calm on the road. Hopefully the CS won't surrender at halftime if we're down a few points. Anybody remember F-Troop?
I like the idea. I must admit I have grown to respect and admire McCown a hell of a lot more as both a superb leader and a great teammate. He should transition into a back up role/coach role for the Jets. Hopefully he takes the white flag and shoves it up someone's ass. I also think the way the Jets play D over the next 3 weeks, more so than the offense, will seal the faith for the HC.
Good idea; Jeremy Bates can take the day off to get in some last minute Christmas shopping. Everybody knows who Jeremy Bates is, right?
Isn't this the case with most veteran QBs when they get injured? They usually are on the sideline helping the young QB out.
Hell, let Morton and Bowles go shopping too...they're only going to quit at the first sign of trouble anyway.
It's a good idea, but what worries me is this from the NYD article: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...player-coach-jets-young-qbs-article-1.3698971 "It’s a one-week trial period for McCown, who suffered a broken hand in the third quarter of a blowout loss at the Broncos this past weekend. Bowles said it “remains to be seen” if McCown will continue in the same role for the Jets’ final two games of the season." I sure hope that he's not thinking that McCown can be brought back in to start again after this week!
Oh boy ..this Team ...something between Ship of Fools and The Good Ship Lollypop (3 Cheers for Joshy)
Josh's injury finally provides him relief from the dangerous perils of being the Jet's QB. No matter how dumb you folks think Bowles and his coaching staff are, there is a reason why Josh was the starting QB. Your future franchise QB is possibly in next year's draft or free agency. He is not on the Jet's roster this year. Sorry to be the messenger of bad news, but I tell it the way I see them. The team desperately needs a better OL and better QB for the future. They need a stable of running backs that they can be used for the passing game and smash mouth football. They need Tight ends that can both catch the ball and block. A balanced offense that will lead to your offense being less predictable and your defense being less on the field. These things are possible very shortly if the Jets play their cards properly. But please for the name of God stop acting like Petty or Hack are your future, they are not!
