Has anyone heard any info on the injury that Pennington had in the game? I know he finished and looked ok, but when he went down he looked like he was in a lot of pain. I just hope he doesn't do like in 2004 and play hurt.
I know he didn't fake it but the way things transpired it crossed my mind. He went down writhing in pain then goes off the field getting the crowd into it and Ramsey comes in and they try a double move and go deep.
His arm was still in "big boy passing mode" after the "injury" so case closed, he's fine, and we're moving forward.
Twice while he was down it looked like he was grabbing his shoulder, but he popped up and started waving his arms around like windmills so I figured he was just shaken.
chad never grapsed his shoulder at all and i doubt he hurt it the way he was waving his arms as he was coming out for a play...although it looked like his landing should have hurt his shoulder... the way he was rolling around and not grasping anything...he seemed frantic, the way most people are when they are struggling to get some air through their lungs...im sure thats all it was almost crapped my pants watching him on the ground....on a side note
Was allowing Mario Williams to demolish Chad from the blindside also in their plans? I dunno, that would be quite a gutsy move to let Mario get a free hit, just so Ramsey can toss a prayer. I think that Chad genuinely got the wind knocked out of him, and it seemed like a lot worse when it first happened. As he said himself, at first he felt like he was going to die, but after getting some breaths back, he felt better. Ramsey's long bomb was probably Mangini's way of trying to catch the Texans off guard, given the situation.
Getting winded is a very unpleasant experience. Whenever it happened to me playing aussie rules it felt like an eternity before your lungs would work again. That 10 seconds or so are pretty scary.
That might have been the biggest hit Chad's taken this year and he got up off the ground. He's one tough SOB. Perhaps his injury woes really are behind him. At the very least, he knows how to "fall" safely now. Huge relief..
i was at the game and it was like the air was let out of the stadium. than he gets up and we can see he is okay and everyone went nuts.
