This is all about the person within - you can't change a zebras stripes. If he is anything like what he has displayed in front of all his critics, fans and media, he doesn't need to be lectured or told how he should act as a NFL QB or a player in NY. He'll do just fine.
Darnold is a perfect fit for NY. he isn't a "headline guy" he's similar to eli in personality. a laid back guy without a lot to say. he just goes out and does his job without bragging and shit.
I've been saying all along he reminded most of Eli as a prospect. Similar size, very similar personality (Sam slightly less gooberish fortunately), and I see similarities in their game even tho Sam a little more athletic.
yeah sam is a little smaller and a little more athletic. hopefull he turns out a little better then Eli as well. I kinda see Eli as his floor personally with an aaron rodgers type ceiling.
he fits into the "bowles" mold perfect. meanwhile baker is more of a rex guy. those 2 here running the show would be a shit show of a circus. rex dressed up as rob and baker dressed up as brady doign a press conference with a sign saying brady is gay while he grabs his crotch.
Sam a little smaller? that just made me look it up haha. They list Eli as 6'4" 218lbs, and Sam as 6'4" 220lbs, but the listings are never entirely accurate fwiw.
sam is 6/3 and 3/8ths eli is 6/4 and 3/5ths so an inch and change taller eli was listed at 221 out of college and darnold at 220 but weight fluctuates so they probably weight about the same
He’s definitely a goober. Pre-draft I remember reading how much of a mommas boy he is. Goobers tend to be the smartest without much distraction. Peyton & Eli come to mind in terms of film study and what not.
not to split hairs, but Eli was exactly 6'4" at the combine (not sure where you saw the 3/5). Darnold was 6'3" and 3/8, so Eli is 5/8 inch taller. Agreed on the weight. they are very comparable in terms of size imo.
http://draftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=1146&draftyear=2004&genpos=QB measured at the combine and pro day at 6' 4" and .6 of an inch (they do it as 6046)
I hope Darnold realizes the differential wakefulness of the temporal cosmos that represents the leap to a fundamental universal constant that we can only speculate about.
I like the confidence but uhm just to remind you he plays for the Jets now. He's stepping into a shitty OL shitty HC and a fanbase carrying 50 years of angst in the biggest and brightest city in the country. He's going to have to be a beast to not get ruined here but for the first time in a long time the team has someone with a fighting chance which is all we can ask for as fans.
Hes never tagged in anything, I checked as well. Didn't see anything. I wish I did the same. I can't stand Facebook. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
