dam my boy walford again. I really think he hangs on as the TE3 with legget and herndon although i could see him as a casualty if we want to keep a proven blocker in tomlinson as herndon, walford, and legget are more receivers then blockers but i do hope clive stays on.

Wow, so much for being the ultimate teammate. McCown kicks a pylon over in rage seeing his starting job start to slip away. Sad!

Speaking of McCown. I was impressed to see he was wearing Air Jordan 11 cleats.

    Great taste.

Saw in the Star Ledger training camp report for yesterday that Antonio Cromartie is a volunteer LB coach for the Jets this TC, and he gave some technique advice to Derrick Jones. WTH? Cromartie sure wasn't physical or much of a tackler, so what in the heck can he teach the Jets' LBs? His technique as a CB was never very sound, either. He always tried to get by on natural ability. That sounds like a favor to Cromartie, but I'm not sure he has anything good to teach anyone.

he can teach people to learn from his mistakes, what not do, don't sit back flat fotted and use your hands too much. don't grab a jersey and most important wear a rubber

  7. He worked hard to get better at jamming at the line to fit in Rex’s D.And while he wasnt the greatest tackler he could lay the wood.2013 training camp he knocked santonio holmes out for multiple weeks w one of the biggest hits ive ever seen in a TC setting.

What he can teach the young DBs is how to use their eyes.It was his vision that allowed him to utilize his size & athleticism despite not always having the best technique. He always stayed in optimal position in order to make a play on the ball

I'm with NCJetsFan. I personally loved Cromartie opposite of Revis but I have no clue why he's here working alongside of LB's. A CB working with an LB is similar to a TE working with WR's or a FB working with an HB etc, etc. Doesn't make too much sense to me.

One player who I'd love to see Cromartie working with is, well you guessed it; a CB. Derrick Jones. Like Cromartie, has outstanding size for an outside CB.

He is working as an intern. My guess would be he is working with lbs to expand his resume and make him self more well rounded. I think it was former safety mark carrier that was a d line coach for us with Rex. This isn’t that uncommon

A bunch of dumb dudes falling all over themselves to defend assholes who didn't want to play football.

    Perfect.

Cromartie was one of the better playmaking corners in the game in his prime. Perhaps, he is helping them in terms of being able to cover?

    This.

Bowles told Cro if he wanted to become a serious coach, he needed to expand his ability to coach all defensive positions.

He was pretty good in other seasons as well. The season where he got 10 INTs obviously a great year, but a very effective corner outside of that.

  16. Cromartie was a damn good corner pretty much his entire time in the league. Im not sure how that can even be debated

Yea I’m not sure where this notion is coming from. He had his faults but Cro was very very good for quite a few years.

I think you need to go back and watch film of his Jet career. He was very good at times, pretty good at others, and pretty bad or wildly inconsistent not a small part of the time. I never saw any aggressiveness from him at the LOS. That was major complaint. With his size, he should have been able to knock WRs off their routes and detain them at the LOS, but he rarely did. As far as I'm concerned he was just a big pussy.

Call him whatever you want as long as you also acknowledge how good he was before the last few years.

  20. He was more of a finesse player than so a physical one but he definitely improved quite a bit on his ability to press to play in Rex’s scheme..And ive watched the tape.

The guy was never perfect & had his faults but there isnt any other #2 corner in team history id take over him& only a few #1s that i would.
