However much $ he wants give it to him. Get into shape and you're our starting center for the rest of the season. At least he can complete the most basic function which making sure the ball arrives safely in the Qb's hands. This guy is the god damn Mackey Sasser of centers. I have never seen this in my life it is beyond disgraceful his snaps. Ridiculous. Sorry Long. If you CAN'T SNAP THE BALL then you are not a center. If Mangold says no then go to Jim Sweeney. I don't care. Somebody else needs to be snapping the ball. This is ridiculous and embarrassing and costing us and could get Darnold hurt because it puts him in a very vulnerable position
And you just know in a big game later this year we'll be on the cusp of tying it or taking the league, we have the D scrambling and confused, Darnold is looking great. And then the snap sails over his head and we'll lose. This has to be rectified as soon as possible. I have no idea how Darnold played so well not even knowing if he's going to have a damn football in his hand
I'll throw my hat in the ring for Joe Fields. This long snapper guy has issues and almost cost the Jets a win today. The guy can barely roll the ball back there from the shotgun.
Long, it's reached critical mass. I said it in the game thread, low, high, take your pick. Kick him in his ass. I was also going to suggest Joe Fields, but someone else beat me to the punch, lol.
He's playing Center. I'd hate to see him be a long snapper. It would probably dud on the ground or hit the kicker in the face. Spencer Long. Dig up Spencer Tracy. He'd probably do a better job.
Yeah, Long is just freakin brutal ... another position the management has to focus on improving in the off season for sure. Heck, putting a tackling dummy in place and having Powel snap the ball would be better.
C'mon guys, you know he can't be awful. One of our posters said he was the best FA C available this past offseason and was a great signing!
Longs blocking hasnt been the worst but ive been screaming over these snaps since week 2. At this point, it might be time to rotate winters and long positions on the line.
Ugh. We just ran the ball for 350 yards, 7 days ago. We've won 2 in a row, and our offense is putting together long drives and putting points on the board. And we're already complaining about Spencer Long? Do we not remember how our offense moved with Wesley Johnson? I agree that he needs to fix his snapping, as I've noticed 2 interceptions on plays that started with the high snap and got Darnold out of rhythm. But he also came up on the injury report before the Broncos game, with an injured knee and finger. I'm assuming his finger is causing those snapping issues, as I've never seen him have an issue with it prior.
