Many people are talking about getting Marshawn Lynch, Michael bush, and kenny irons. What about Tony hunt? Hes 6'2 230 and has some productive games against good defenses against Ohio State: 24 rushes 135 yards against Minnesota: 31 rushes 144 yards and against Michigan state 29 rushes 130 yards i havent heard anyone talk about him so i think we could get him 3rd maybe even 4th rd and get defense line olb o line b 4 that

    from NFL Draft Countdown

    Strengths:
Has great size with a solid frame...Displays outstanding balance...A strong and powerful runner who will deliver a blow and fall forward...Has good hands and can help out in the passing game...A reliable blocker...Durable and the type who gets stronger as the game goes on...Was very productive throughout his career.

    Weaknesses:
Lacks elite timed speed and quickness...Won't break off many long runs...Not very shifty and won't make people miss...Vision is somewhat questionable and he will misread some blocks...Will struggle to get outside and turn the corner in the NFL.

    Notes:
A classic North / South guy who does everything well but nothing great...Saved the best for last and had his best season as a senior...Is not very flashy but he gets the job done and could develop into an adequate starter at the next level.

Sounds like Cedric Houston, with less power. We don't need a runningback. We have Washington/Houston for a while not.

I've been yapping about him all year. I wouldn't mind getting Dan Connor or Pos either.

i think dan connor is too young to come out but im not certain about that. i wouldnt want posluszny either because i think that injury really hurt his abilities to perform. you can really see a difference in his play. i don't know if its hesitation or if he's not fully recovered

Steelers and Nits threads are homing devices for PF4Jets. :)

Posluszny could be good in the NFL if he were to get back to how he was before the injury.

I don't particularly care for Hunt. Maybe he could be a backup in the NFL. Too big and not elusive enough.

MikeSLTJ23- Connor can come out if he wants.

Connor is a Jr. I hope he stays with Penn State one more year. Don't agree with you on Posluszny though. He won the Bednarik Award again this year.

Can someone explain to me how Posluzny won the award for defensive player of the year but he did not win the award for outstanding linebacker? It would seem to me if you were the overall best defensive player that you would also be voted as the best player at your particular position.

Or is it simply that college football wants multiple winners of these awards?

Posluszny also had to learn a new position this year as he was moved inside.

That's a very accurate comparison, but Hunt has a little more breakaway speed then Houston too.

I would be very upset if Connor left and we'd have to replace all 3 LBs. Connor has a little more physical ability then Pos and he'd likely be a 2nd round pick if he were to come out, especially with the very thin OLB class this year.

I wouldn't mind Hunt- I like how he runs. He's pretty damn patient and has got a knack for hitting the right hole.

However, I think Marshawn should be our #1 target. Hunt wouldn't be a bad fallback option.

Hunt's not much of a blocker, so I'll pass on that idea.

My bad, I've trained my lazy brain to skip letters.

I love Tony Hunt to death and being a Penn State fan I'd love to see him in Green and White, but he'll go first day and possibly before our 3rd round pick. For a guy that is only a slight improvement over Cedric Houston due to pass catching ability and a little bit more speed, he's not worth a 2nd round pick.

Also remember that his fantastic 6+ ypc in '05 was helped from a lot of option and the constant danger of Michael Robinson's long ball/running ability. And, also remember that throughout most of their history and in the past 2 years, Penn State's offensive line has been very good, making Hunt look better to the naked eye. I'm just trying to point out negatives, since the only great Penn State running back to do anything in the pros recently was Larry Johnson. He's too much of a risk for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, and I'd rather spend it on bigger defensive needs.
