I don't think it matters where the gun was. His biggest problem is the fact that he had a gun without a permit in NYC, the airport stuff is secondary. Hundreds of gun-toting tourists have been arrested at NYC airports

If you read the whole article it says they are very lenient on those with out of state licenses. Out of all of the cases at LaGuardia and JFK since 2014, 80% have resulted in a dismissal or plea of Disorderly Conduct. This is not going to be a big deal.
Plex had an illegal firearm in a club and accidentally shot himself. He was also not a Jet at the time. Different situation completely.

Well, maybe what you heard came from a better source than I have but I prefer to not close my mind to all possibilities until a reliable source or two confirms what actually happened.
