Im more shocked at Rhodes not making it than i am at Coles not making. Coles is having a terrific season no doubt, but the only one i think he shouldve been taken over was Johnson. As far as he goes its a close call, but Rhodes not making it is absolutely ridiculous.
You answered your question though. Lynch has a rep and popularity to break any ties. I've watched a lot of Rhodes and Lynch (thanks Sunday Ticket). I'd take Rhodes, but to unseat someone from the pro bowl, unfortunately, you need to go way above and beyond.
There's no reason to be upset about Coles not making it. Sure, he has had a good year, but Harrison/Wayne are just ridiculous, Chad Johnson although starting slow has had a great year, and Andre Johnson is a catch-machine and the only bright spot on the Texans offense. Coles is definatley close, and certainly top 5, but there are strong arguments for the guys that made it.
I pretty much agree with this. I am ELATED that my boy J-Mill is goin! W00T!!! AFA Rhodes, That is a Slap in the face. Denver guys always seem to snub us. Chrebet, Mo Lewis, Victor Green..The lists go on But Lynch? Give me a F$#% Break!
Yeah I have no problem with Coles not making it. Wayne has been the "outside looking in" kind of guy the last few years since WR's were stacked, and now he made his 1st Pro-Bowl, and he deserves it. Not saying Coles doesn't, but the other 4 I can't really argue. Rhodes got snubbed, what can you do? He isn't a household name yet, everybody recognizes Lynch, Reed, and Polamalu...Rhodes, it'd just be "Who?"

I'm ok with Coles not making it just because those other guys are all pretty unbelievable. However, there is now way Lynch should be in the probowl over Rhodes.

Absolute BS this is. Lynch over Rhodes is just a joke. Sean Jones of the Browns has like 5 picks and Rhodes has better stats than any other AFC safety. They should go instead of Lynch (look above) and Polamalu (who's missed time). It's a joke. But when Denver's sitting at home during the playoffs and Rhodes and the Jets are making a run in the postseason, then we'll show them. :up:
What they really should do if they want people to care about pro bowl results is take the fans vote out of it. Do either players and coaches, or maybe just coaches. Theyve got a much better idea of whos doing what than any fan. I mean, Rashaen Mathis is one of the three best in the AFC(hes talented, but hasnt played well)? Brian Westbrook doesnt get in with everything hes done for the Eagles? People are voting for Ronde and Tiki just out of habit now, theyll probably both still be getting voted in ten years after theyve retired. It wouldve been nice to see Coles go just because hes made it as a Redskin but not as a Jet, that kinda seems wrong. I woulda taken him over Reggie Wayne... the idea of a number two guy, who gets single coverage all day, getting in over Coles is kinda stupid I think. But Im sure hell get his chance.
