Giants must be playing at the same time. The rule is that if one NY team is playing on one network, the other one can't show a game at that time.
Finally I moved to Mass. in august and things are finally working in my favor. Pats/Jags at 1 PM, Cincy/Den at 4 PM, Jets/Phins on Monday Night, Christmas with the wife and son and PS3/360 and no travel to NJ to see the in laws... Feels like a Mastercard commercial.
I could swear there have been games on opposite the Jets and Giants. I could be wrong because I go to the home games and have the DirecTV package, but wasn't there a game on this week on FOX while the Jets were playing?
I hear you. Been here in New England too long, and it doesn't work out that well often enough. Monday night will be sweet with a win though.
yes. Games CAN be on opposite the Jets and Giants if they're on the road. The Giants are home this week, so by rule, no game can be on opposite them. When we went to Minnesota, it was a road game, so FOX was able to show a game as well. I just wish there would be a doubleheader so we could see two games at 4 instead of just the Bengals game. It's really too bad that almost the entire country sees the Pats game but us. It's the most important game for Jets fans on Sunday.
Fuck the giants, I can't believe that miserable, whiny joke of a franchise is preventing us from seeing a game that really matters.
i said this yesterday when i looked on tvguide.com it showed generation jets and paid programming from 1-4 -- really ruined my entire sunday -- now i have to watch the giants, and have sportsline.com going for the jags loss! would love sunday ticket but my co-op didn't approve a dish once YES network made it to cable
Week 16 watching the Ravens-Steelers. That would suck. Ravens won 27-0 first meeting. I see a 24-21 Ravens win this time.
Actually the games have to be a certain distance on the road outside the home market in order to show a game opposite of NYG or NYJ. If we played let's say Philly they would not show another game.
They only show a game opposite the Jets or Giants if there is a Fox or CBS Doublheader and the NY team is not home, like last week.
Makes having Sunday Ticket even better. Although you can probably just go to a TVU player site and watch the Pats game.
