    Good Christ...

We have to go through this sh*t every time someone starts a thread with information about the new stadium. Where have these people been for the past 12 months and why have they not at least kept themselves minimally informed? It's been in every newspaper and on every NY TV channel for over a year.

But no... the same old questions. How come it's not in Manhatten... how come we're sharing it... how come it's still called Giants Stadium (it's not) and how come we don't have our own. All this stuff was resolved by the NY Jets and the NY-NJ polticians over 12 months ago.

My question to you is, "How come you don't already know this sh*t?"

Who knows. That will probably be decided by the NFL schedulers, not necessarily either team.

    Jets vs Gaints

Make it a away game for both teams and let each team have 1/2 the tickets. They can then raffle them off to season ticket holders.

A Jets-Giants game is a great suggestion. I'm assuming each team has it's own locker area so that's not a problem and as far as the tickets go, I like the idea of an away game for both teams. Put 1/2 the tickets in a lottery for each team.

Great suggestion, Hoobash. A Jets-Giants game would be so cool to start off the new stadium.

The stadium is scheduled to open in 2010 and the Jets do not play the Giants in 2010. They play the NFC North.

That is a good question though. I want the first home game, of course. But do you think we will get it? Or will they give it to the beloved Giants?

The season is 17 weeks long. After the initial Jet-Giants mutual "away" game, you still have 16 weeks in which to have each team have a "home game," if you work each team's Bye correctly.

Then, the outcome of this first game determines who gets the first official home game for whenever they next meet. Whenever they meet after that, they alternate.

My GUESS is the NFL will defer to seniority when the new stadia is ready & give game 1 in it to the NYGs since they have been in the league almost twice as long as us. Now if we were to win the SB the winter before the new stadium opened then I can see us opening the season on MNF on Thursday nite

My guess is it will come down to TV and money. Just a hunch.

I was standing in line waiting to get into Giants stadium one day a long time ago, and it was a Jets-Giants game. Can't remember if it was our home game or not, but that doesn't matter.

So I'm with 3 other people and we're all decked out in Green, of course, and next to us are a bunch of Giants fans in Blue and Red. A little badgering started from one of them about "we're gonna kick your ass, etc." and we wound up calling them losers, etc.... you know how it goes.

So then one of them says, "Well, look up and read the name that's on the stadium and then tell me who the losers are." Man... that really burned. So, all I can say is, I won't have to put up with THAT ever again.

I'm kinda happy about his. It's not hard for me to drive over to the Medowlands. Most important though... No more "Giants Stadium"! This stadium is as much ours as it is theirs.
