https://www.nfl.com/news/joe-dougla...lution-darnold-is-quarterback-for-the-future- If he actually is putting his faith into Gase and is actually considering keeping him. JD needs to be fired as well and the Jets need to clean house and start fresh. Now, he might just be weathering the storm with the press but if this is even being considered in the front office then the Johnsons need to do the right thing for once and clean house. “My focus is helping Adam solve the problem and work together to do it," Douglas said. "Obviously, I think we're all confident in our abilities, but I'm focused to solve these problems with Adam." Unreal just unreal
Just when I was starting to believe in JD long term and forgive him for trading away an All Pro 1st team and the first since Revis in #33 Jamal Adams? and just when I was starting to get over him not bringing back Robby Anderson? etc But I now see him sticking up for an 0-8 Adam Gase? Um. I'm on the verge of going full on bash JD mode while blowing a head gasket. Maybe JD is the actual problem. Any available GM candidates? Plz Front Office Jet fans please throw me some names of GM's who can replace JD. This is absolutely disgusting...
He probably knows that Gase is going to be here the rest of the season. What do you expect the guy to do, throw Gase under the bus with 8 games to go. One note he never committed to Gase in 2021 or Darnold for that matter. He just said he has confidence in them, which means I'm not going to give you guys something to write about for the next 3 months before the time comes when i makes the decision. Not to mention it is a Johnson call to dump Gase.
Just remember JD is a bit more media savvy than Chrissy Johnson is. He can't come out and blast both his HC and his Qb in public so don't give too much weight to these statements. Factor in the Org Chart and you'll realize there's not a damn thing JD can do about Gase anyway. Its up to ChrissyJ .
It's scary. First a foremost to believe that people getting paid this much money could be this out of touch with reality. However. What is JD supposed to say? I mean. He's still the HC of the Jets until proven otherwise. The real issue is the lack of understanding by the incompetent acting owner, by keeping such an awful coach, now It makes everything more complicated when It comes to fan outlook and media exposure. It's just a really bad situation that could be handled much better than It currently Is. In my opinion. All of It stinks.
If he said, "Gase stinks and should be fired now," it would create division in the organization and would look bad across the league.
Always believe everything a coach, player or gm says at a press conference. Not sure why fans think these guys are going to say anything to throw somebody else under the bus.
Douglas knows he can't bad mouth his HC and QB...even if they eventually get dropped he won't bad mouth them, it's not how the game is played. But...if Gase remains as the HC for next year, I'm done until they get to a SB.
exactly. you remain profession. give the PR answer and move on. if JD knows gase is gone after the season and not anytime in the next 8 weeks why would he point it out at a press conference. he can't come out and say we are firing him in 8 weeks. fans don't get that
Ok but JD has to think about the fans us fans as well. He obviously knows we as a fan base are absolutely disgusted with Gase. Instead of making any type of positive statements about Gase while mental torturing us fans? He should simply say "no comment". "next question". "No comment". Next question". "No comment". And that's what JD should be saying. That's all he should be saying. But hes not. And you know why? Because he's loyal to Adam Gase. He's thankful Gase gave him him his first and only opportunity as an NFL GM and therefore, he's thankful for Gase and will remain loyal to Gase, unfortunately. That's all JD should EVER say about Gase, but unfortunately he's not.
This looks bad across the league. JD could say injuries have really hurt us making it hard on us, and we will review everybodys position at the end of the season. Not that Adam is part of the solution
How can he come out & openly blast someone who is equal to him within the organization & who he has no control over firing? Hes gotta be a team player given the circumstances.
I get he could be downplaying to the media but he straight out said he wants to work with Gase on fixing the team. He doesn’t need to say that. obviously he’s not going to bash Gase in public but he doesn’t have to say that he wants solve the problems with him either... scary times....
I will say i gritted my teeth when he had the audacity to say that along w the OL that Offensive skill was the focus this past offseason.Really?!
Nah man he doesn’t need to say things that makes the fan base and football world think Gase is part of the rebuild. You just don’t need to go there. Just say he’s working hard and we are decimated by injuries and move on. Don’t say he wants to solve the problems with him. It makes you look like a moron.
