If Sunday ultimately will be Frank Gore‘s final NFL game, he will end his career with exactly 16,000 rushing yards.

While it may not have been the last game of Gore’s career, it will be Gore’s last game in 2020. Coach Adam Gase told reporters on Monday that Gore won’t play in Week 17 at the Patriots due to a lung contusion.

It took 17 weeks but we will finally see what we have in our young running backs. I think all season it was Gore's & Gase's goal to get Gore to 16000 yards. That would be funny if the stat line was off by 1 yard & Gore officially ended up with 15999 yards. He would have to play another season to get to 16000.:p

I don't think it would be funny. Gore is a class act, a great mentor/example for young players, and has been a great player in the NFL. He deserves 16k yards. He isn't as talented as Sayers or Sweeness were, and his yards have come the hard way. He has worked his ass off and taken care of himself, and made a ton of sacrifices to get where he is. He deserves nothing but respect and the very best. I wish that we had had a better team for him to end his career with so he could have had one more shot at the playoffs. I think he has helped with the culture change and that we owe him a lot. It's not his fault that Gase decided to run him exclusively and ignore Adams, Johnson, and Perine.

I don't begrudge Gore getting his 16K yard. I absolutely despise Gase for putting that ahead of the development of younger better players. Just add this to the long list of things that more than justify Gase being fired and never having an NFL coaching job again (and I mean NO coaching job at any capacity).

It looked a lot like an in game retirement. He reached his milestone and he was done

I can easily name at least a dozen backs better than him, he’s a compiler, a Hof’er

I agree, does longevity mean he is a HOF. To me he was a good back that played more than the expected life of a running back. Kudos to him for playing so many years, but HOFer, I don't think so. Compared to Walter- Walter Payton: Pos: RB, Career: 190 G, 125 TD (11th), 16726 Yds (2nd), 4.4 Y/A (56th), 1977 MVP, 5xAll-Pro(1st), 9xProBowl, Bears 1975-1987, Gore is no ware close to him.
    Frank Gore: Pos: RB, 2020: 2 TD,Career: 240 G (72nd), 100 TD (83rd), 5xProBowl, 49ers/Colts/.. 2005-2020

Yes, there have been a lot of backs who had more natural talent and ability. He has been lucky to an extent to have never suffered a major injury (AFAIK), but he has also worked very hard. That's actually one of the knocks on Curtis Martin. He wasn't fast, wasn't great at any one thing, but was very good at every thing. He worked hard, made sacrifices, stayed in great shape and was a class act. He was a compiler too, but they both deserve the kudos and laurels they have earned. They worked their asses off for them. I don't know about Gore, but I know that in Curtis' case he never even particularly liked football, he just played to get the money to do other things that he wanted to do in life.

If Gore doesn't go into the HOF, then Curtis Martin should come out.

I really like the way Gore finishes runs. He reminds me of Martin the way he always falls forward for an extra yard or so.

I despise Gase but I really like everything about Frank Gore. I would not mind Gore back at all next year as the 3rd RB and a locker room presence.

Don't forget Adams our #3 running back. In the only game he had much playing time he ran for 5 carries 49 yards. I would rather go with the young guys. I wouldn't mind taking a running back on day 2 but I wouldn't use a day 1 pick on one. I don't know what the FA running backs look like, but it's a option. Personally I like our RB by committee with our 3 RB's. Perine, Johnson, Adams. I think all 3 showed promise when they were given the chance.

Yeah, its not like we won't be able to find anyone else to run 2 yards into the asses of the linemen and fall down

Gase ran 37 year old Frank Gore to the point of a core body injury during a season we started 0-13.

    There is a god.

Seems he'll be okay, glad for that. Just couldn't stand watching him tote the rock for the Jets this year

Makes this upcoming NE game worth watching. We'll get to see the young backs run. I hope it isn't just Perine into the pile for 60mins though.

Gore had 3.5 yrd per run avg here, not 2 and a pile of dust. At least be honest.

    Nothing against gore

but when did we become the “we’ll get you personal stat over winning games” team?

    I know when

when fuck face idiot Gase was hired

it’s not like gore was a12 year back with the Jets and we were doing the right thing by him.

we put HIM ahead of the Jets and I’m truly confused

    fuck the Johnsons
    Fuck Gase

props to you mr Gore the stat accumulator

    Gore will get in.
But let’s be honest. I would take Curtis over Gore everyday of the week and twice on Sunday, and it ain’t even close.

Johnson and Adams seemed so explosive compared to Gore and Perine. I'd like to see more of them.

Gore gets a “convenient” rest after his stat whore number with this mystery “non provable” injury. (Nothing against gore)

meanwhile fat fuck Douglas (who I like) decided to not “rest” any other starters for injuries or rookie evaluations after week 12...totally fucked the team and himself forever.

If there is one thing I hate is lies / hypocrisy.

which we have in spades with this shit show led by the cunt Johnsons.

so there you go fat man. You let Gase run the team with lies, and he fucked you with no Vaseline and no QB and no #1 pick! You moron.

    hope you enjoyed it. Dumbass
