December 27, 2006 9:32 PM ET Raiders: Brooks still the starter Art Shell has announced that Aaron Brooks will be his starter in Sunday's season-ender at the Jets, assuming Brooks is healthy enough to play. "If (Brooks is) healthy, he'll go," Shell told the San Francisco Chronicle. Brooks has been bothered by a neck injury of late and was not able to play in week 16. Andrew Walter started in his place.
Good, even better for the Jets. Get a guy who is injured and half his game relies on running around the pocket. immobilize him and smash him into the turf. Sounds like a fun afternoon at the stadium to me. Walters is their best option but shell is just a moron.
We are in big trouble now! Brooks has "an arm"! He can make "all the throws!" How are we going to compete by relying on Chad Pennington who has a great career win percentage as a starting quarterback and is set up to lead his team to the playoffs for the 3rd time in 5 years! So what if he is a great leader and game manager. He doesn't have enough "zip" on his "outs"! And Aaron Brooks can really sling that ball around! He is a God! HELP!!! HELP!!! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!!!!!
Id prefer facing Walter though. Aaron Brooks had a very good game against us last year. (Of course, I know that that was then). Walter looks terrified all the time -- Aaron Brooks is capable.
I doubt it. The Jets are going to put nine guys in the box on every play until Brooks can prove he can throw to the sorry, third-string receivers that will be on the field for the Raiders - without Lamont Jordan to rely on. It's going to be a frakking massacre.
I don't care who is on offense. The Raiders don't scare me on the offensive side of the ball. My only worry is that their defense will shut us down. We are totally reliant on the pass, and against their pass D, we are looking at a long day for Chad. My only hope is that all week Mangini drills the OLine on the run blocking schemes, and let Leon run wild. Forget the pass this week boys. Go with what works against the Raiders, and attack on the ground.
I would rather face Walter because he gets sacked ALOT! But Aaron Brooks is nothing to write home about...should be able to handle him.
