I was thinking this morning how ironic it is that this game is against the Raiders. They were the team that ended Chad Pennington's original magic carpet ride in 2002, how fitting that he can start his 16th game and complete his amazing comeback and return to the playoffs against the Oakland Raiders. I'll bet deep down that isn't lost on Chad, what comes around goes around in life. Of course it's a different Oakland team and staff, different Jets team and staff, but I find it to be quite ironic how it's come full circle. Your thoughts?
Yeah, that's pretty ironic. But I'm glad it's going good for OUR team Shows you can't stop Chad f*cking Pennington
I'd still like to see them honor Curtis Martin sometime after the start of the 3rd. qtr. Particularly during a Raider offensive possession. It would only take say, a 25 minute tribute complete with everything and everyone ever associated with Curtis Martin since grammar school...
I will never forget how they shitted on the game that day. Milestone or not, you do NOT interrupt a football game for anything... other than a commercial.
I think it would only be a "what goes around comes around "situation if Chad ended Oaklands season... being that Oaklnads season ended 16 weeks ago, its not quite the same. although any time we beat the Raiders its a good thing
We should steamroll the Raiders the way they did to us when they ran the ball down our throat 13 times or so when TC was our DC
I still say that was one of the main reasons we lost that game. We had all the momentum and lost it after that nonsense.
Actually I think it was 19 or 20 straight runs in that game. We still won the game but I wanted to throw my TV out the window during that stretch.
There is nothing more frustrating than when the jets cant stop the run. This was the epitome of that very notion
If you're thinking of game where they ran it down our throat we won that one 27-24 in OT. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap/NFL_20031109_NYJ@OAK
Wrong champ. We won the game. And Chad was 18/27 for 269 yards and 2 TDS. Including a TD drive to send the game into OT.
Yeah, we won that game BECAUSE of Chad. I agree with Italian Seafood because the Raiders still have an aggressive formidable defense who can pose a challenge to Chad - plus we still have to get through them in order to make the postseason no matter how bad they are. So I consider this game a bit of a milestone should we win.
I almost had a seizure when they did that ceremony! I was destroying things in my basement! This is the NFL! How Bushleague was that ceremony! Then they run a play for a touchdown right after the break!
If that does happen and its because of his poor performance, you will certainly see an open competition for QB next year.
I expect a open competition next TC under any circumstances but you can hang your hat on it if we lose cause CP can not get it done for us he is gonzo at least from us next season
