Agreed. I think "breakout" is a misnomer for Moore this year. If he only gets around 400 yards and 3 TDs this season, then next year has over 1,000 yards and 10 TDs, THAT would be a breakout season.
You could be right, but I think things will be more equal. I think our OL will dominate some teams or at least give Zach time and open holes for the rushing attack. I think they'll be able to score quickly or drive the field in long, sustained drives. There will be bad series, and bad quarters, up and down play, and bad games. I think the days of the D having to carry this team are over.
Did Justin Jefferson have a breakout year? I don’t have an opinion, but it your answer to that will answer your posted question.
Moore is getting a lot of hype, but our offense (for the most part) is filled with very young players.... and a rookie QB. If he doesn't put up big numbers this year it may be a team effort, it'll be a lot of eye testing this year for the offense as a whole. Theyve failed the eye test 9 out of the last 10 years.
Yes, a rookie can have a breakout season. 1998 Randy Moss: 69 recs 1313 yards 17 TDs (10 40+ yard touchdowns )
+3900 for OROY. Might not be a bad $10 spot on that one even though a quarterback will inevitably win.
Yeah, it seems to me if Moore had the numbers for OROY the award would go to Wilson, since he'd be throwing him the ball and hes also a rookie
Did he live up to your expectations today? Many of you were predicting hall of fame before he ever played a real game.
He was kind of disappointing today. I don't really fault him for the deep ball since he had the defender affecting his arms before the ball arrived. Zach isn't the only rookie on the field. He did drop a short pass that definitely should have been caught and overall was struggling maintaining leverage with his cover man. I think some of us expected this guy to step on the field and be a pro bowl player after all of the camp talk, but he's got his own rookie mistakes to make. Kind of puts a damper on the OROY talk though. Might not have been a realistic expectation on a rebuilding team.
Lol…too soon for that. I was just surprised by how many people give out HOF blazers before 1 game is played. He is obviously talented, I hope he bounces back.
They are nearly as bad as the scrotes who delight in slating a rookie after one game, sometimes that one game was in pre-season. Now I wonder who this reminds me of?
Hey, it wouldn't be the first time a receiver hit the ground running in the NFL, it just hardly ever happens to us unless we draft Keyshawn Johnson #1 overall. I still have a feeling he's going to make a few serious plays today but maybe I'm just still hopeful that he's not a camp warrior.
Definitely too soon. I think he’ll be fine. He might not be an all pro year one. That can wait until next season.
Key #1. Good ol days. Do you recall Key's performance in that PO game (Jags)? Found memories. Lol not too many of those...
