Joe Douglas You can't put this shitty of a product on the field and keep your job. It's as simple as that. Let us now work our way down. Robert Saleh No fire... no emotion. Let's the refs just fuck us and he does nothing. The team is undisciplined on both sides of the ball... penalties galore. I'm too disgusted to go on. Add your favorites.
Corey Davis sucking the .000000001 percent of life and hope out of Jet world was today's lowlight for me.
Again, no redeeming value to this game. This falls 100% on the coaches. Saleh and his CS need to be one and done. I hate to jump to that, but as young as the defense is, they just let the opponents score in the last three games score 54, 31, 45, and 45 points, and in each game, the opponents put up 400+ yards. This is ridiculously incompetent coaching. That has almost NOTHING to do with the lack of talent; this a MORE talented team than we had last year, and the defense is doing WORSE. Honestly, I would hope they don't even let Saleh finish the season.
They made some adjustments but Saleh should take over the defense. Either you keep JU as part of the staff or fire and have someone else do A better job of calling the defense. Saleh is the defensive wiz, not Ulbrich. Moreso the defense over pursues a lot and leaves the backside open, wide open. I did see more 3 safety looks and Davis played more in the box. But also Bills Ran a ton of playaction and was just hitting the Jets deep on crossers. Echols was burnt and then they got Guidry as well.
This has to be the first time in Jets history they have 4 QBs with a touchdown pass in one season ……. odd indeed.
2005 we had it as well. It was weird that it happened then too because Jay Fiedler played about 25 snaps before being done for the season. It was awesome to see Vinny come off the couch to beat the Buccaneers at home that year though. I was at that awesome game. I believe he had a rushing touchdown too on a QB sneak.
Start with the owner …. Some parts to the team can be saved. A lot of potential in some spots but no spark.
I wonder how many of the points/yards the offense have gained this season have come in garbage time when the other team is out of sight? seems like the only time they look even vaguely competent is when the other team has stopped trying The team is almost completely devoid of talent - how many Jets players would be more or less guaranteed to start on a team like the Bills or Patriots? 1 maybe? None? The coaching does seem to suck (plus ca change) but I don't think that Belichick could find success with this team - years of abysmal drafting and terrible free agents signings (spending big money on injury prone players or failures) have led us to where we are - though the problem is that it is near impossible in the NFL to catch-up and turn things around UNELSS you get a top tier QB as the success of a team is largely driven from that position and until you get that settled you end up wasting all your draft picks and time trying to get a QB (Jets have spent 2 top 5 first round picks and burned 5 second round picks on the QB position in the last few years - that should represent at least 4 or 5 decent quality starters on the team) Whenever a team has turned things around after being crap for a while it has almost always been on the back of sorting the QB position
You are correct …. Vinny came in and threw one in the final ABC Monday night game. Ironically the Jets lost the first ever MNF game 31-21 and lost the last one on ABC by the same score. I think that was Vinny’s 19th straight season with at least one TD pass…
