Some pretty good company & he's only going to get better. Great pic by JD. I think he has what it takes to be CB1.
2020 draft was an absolute disaster top to bottom but at least we got a bona fide CB1 out of it. And in the 5th round. He's very much a legit CB1 if he can stay healthy which he was mostly able to do this year. If Echols pans out then we have a solid 1/2 punch and both of them came on day 3. That's how you build a team. Edit: And if MC2 is our solution in the slot then all three guys came from day 3.
We had a crazy number f injuries at Saftey this season. Is this normal across the league or were the Jets just extremely unlucky?
Interesting question and it seems as though we were somewhat unlucky at that position. I didn’t read through the entire process they used, but the chart indicates safety is middle of the pack. It’s outdated but an in-depth analysis. This could of course be different at this point as helmet to helmet hits and personal fouls are penalized even more than just ten years ago. https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2010/7/7/1467728/which-nfl-position-groups-suffer
yeah overall it's not looking great but it's not awful becton should be the franchise LT going foward. just had a freak injury that took forever to heal mims is not looking good, wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't make the team next year. personally I never liked the pick and didn't care for his college film so i'm not suprised zuniga was a waste of a 3rd. UDFA huff has way outperformed him and likely takes his job. davis is solid, gets a lot of hate here but he's a good centerfielder of a FS. just not good in run support but should at least fill a role for us and see playing time perine was an ass pick. again wouldn't suprise me if he's gone. never liked the pick (rumor was it was a gase pick) morgan is already off the team clark has been hurt the whole 2 years so who knows hall was a steal and the gem of this draft mann has been up and down. Still i we walk out with a LT1, CB1, rotational safety, and decent punter it's not the worst that can happen. He made up for it alot with the 2021 draft so you have to wonder if it was his 1st draft and he was learning or how much influence gase/GW had on that draft or maybe how much influence saleh and company had with this draft. either way so far wilson - looks like he can be the FQB and has realistically outplayed all the other rookie QBs but has a way to go still AVT - looks at worse an above average starting guard with pro bowl potential moore - looks like a true WR1 carter - easily a RB1 and possibly the best rookie RB this season (between him and najee) carter II - looks to be a solid nickel corner but needs to work on tackling echols - possibly a CB2 for us. has really come on the past few weeks marshall - looks to be a solid depth DT. should replace nathan shepard with no loss pinnock - was awful at CB but has looked ok at safety the past few weeks Unknown nasrildean and sherwood both been injured most of the year UDFA yeboah - looks like maybe he can be a good pass catching TE. he had a few nice catches last week in his 1st chance to play huff - has done well as a situational pass rusher
Staff really seems to love Echols and MC2 at the corner spots. I’d be surprised if they grab a corner high. EDGE, OL, WR, TE, LB in no particular order, but highest priority IMO.
He's been extremely solid. Having a corner like Hall is a security blanket for fans, imagine him as your team mate. One of my coolest jet fan memories was prime Revis. You knew WR1 was getting maybe 2 catches all game. It was just over. I think the jets can wait a year before they decide if they want to invest more at corner. See if one of the young guys can develop.
i'd take another late flyer on a 5th/6th round guy like josh jobe. I would take kylar gordon if he slipped into the 3rd (unlikely) but outside that no CBs.
‘’09-10 Revis was insane. People were benching Calvin Johnson ,coho, Reggie Wayne in their fantasy leagues when the Jets were on the schedule. That was by far the best corner play this league has ever seen.
