Chiefs looked awful. Edwards has been exposed yet again. I feel some pity for the Chiefs fans and organization, but I'm really glad they took Herm off our hands.

I also think we could have gone in there and routed them again. 3 picks by Manning would have been at least 10 Jet points.

The Chiefs took 2.75 quarters to get a 1st down against a bad Defense..That goes on Edwards. You can not stay with a bad gameplan that long. He made no adjustments at all. How about you spark the offense and bring in Huard? Nah, Green is my boy. How about you run some different plays on offense? Nah, we had a plan, let's stay the course.. Hmm..I wonder what other mental genius uses that mantra?

It just goes to show you the difference between a good coach vs a great coach. If that was us, I bet our first 10-15 plays would have been play action passes. The colts had so many people around the line of scrimmage. Hell the game plan was so run oriented, they kep Tony G in to block!!! It was obvious they did not work the passing game at all during the week, Green looked lost when he dropped back to pass. So sad.

You guys robbed the Chiefs of draft picks from Edwards. I don't think anyone in-division thought he was worth any kind of compensation.

Then again, for years Jets fans claimed that the Belichick method wasn't that great :p

You mean the method that he adapted from Parcells?

The chiefs playbook looked like it was only 3 pages long. No creativity no suprises just way to conseritive. I dont care what anyone says if you get 3 picks off manning you need to get some points. Once again herm played for the FG (Ty law INT) and it bit him in the ass. Once again bad clock managment, you get a pick inside your 20 with 1:40 left in the half and you let the Colts get the ball back and get a FG. The only time they showed urgency is when the 4th quarter is half way over. The D played a very good game and you cant sustain a drive to give them a break. This totally reminded me of the Herm Jets.

I was thinking the same thing while watching K.C. They looked like the Jets did for the past 2 years. We are so fortunate that Herm took a hike!

I don't care what the gameplan is, w/ that offense they shiould be able to move the ball against that defense. The QB stinks and has never won a playoff game and the RB is a loudmouth who couldn't step up in his time to shine. herm definitely deserves some blame, not that Huard is better but he should have switched, but those players were awful and looked like scared schoolgirls out there.

One thing that angered me about yesterday's Colts game is knowing that if the stupid Broncos beat the 49ers in week 17, we would have wiped the floor with the Dolts yesterday. It wouldn't have even been competitive.

    I sincerely believe that.

And I was actually surprised by Herm and the Chiefs poor performance yesterday. Herm usually gets his teams fired up in the playoffs. The Jets played well for Herm in 2002 and 2004.

But as NYJUNC and others said, the Chiefs came out flat and looked scared while Herm's staff failed to adjust.

Have you noticed he's lost every playoff game he's been in without BB? Or that BB and Parcells run their organizations incredibly differently?

I think that's unfair, I do think BP is near the end of the road but he turned around a dreadful Pats organization w/o Belichick. All great coaches have top notch staffs, have you ever noticed Belichick hasn't won a thing w/o parcells old assistants?

If the trend continues, Mangini should be due. Or maybe Weiss, but then Mangini.

    T-Bird,

You nailed it. It is not necessarily that they weren't prepared. It's that their preparation was one-dimensional. The days of teams beating opponents because they are flat-out better are over. It takes imagination, opponent specific planning, learning from your mistakes and maybe most importantly balls. Herm has none of the above. This doesn't mean he can't win a playoff game, because occasionally he will run into other coaches lacking these requisite skills (Dungy, Schottenheimer). However, I would stake everything I own that he will NEVER win a Super Bowl. Because, you can win a playoff game here and there without being the best coach around, but poor coaches get exposed over the 2 or 3 playoff games it takes to get to a SB.
