This thread is a joke. With all that happened today, to put the blame on a kicker for not putting a few kickoffs inside the 10 and on a punter when there were not too many punts is ridiculous. Does Nugent need to strengthen his leg and lengthen his kickoffs - yes. But 22 straight FGs more than makes up for that. And how is it the kicker' fault when the defense doesn't stop the opponent from driving the other 65 yards of the field? Watch the tape of the game please.
How can anyone say Scene is wrong? Yeah,Nugent has been great on FGs,but our kickoffs gave them excellent field position every time.
Nugent's leg is way too weak or his kickoff technique is wrong...no way a guy in his 20's should be that weak on kickoffs...it'd be one thing if he were an aging accurate kicker like Jan Stenerud or Morten Andersen. But he's 10-15 years younger than they were when their legs went. He needs to work on technique (alot) and strengthening his leg (more). I think this past offseason he worked more on FG accuracy, since that was what was his problem in 2005.
lol this is laughable. the punting wasnt anything special, but we had better field position for most of the game thanks to justin miller, the problem is we cant drive long down the field like the pats can. so obviously theres more problems than special teams.
It was Graham and our coverage teams, Nuge never kicks it deep but we always have good coverage. Graham did a horrible job on all but one P where Wallace Wright had a good chance to ctach a punt inside the 5 but never even made an attempt. Graham is terrible at kicking inside the 10.
Did you have a different game on? I mean, did our kickers line up and play defense in this one? Did our kickers get to the red zone and stall 3 times?
