He’s obviously fucking sucked but this shouldn’t cloud the fact that he was an elite QB for almost a decade.

He did end up in the perfect situation though. Tucked away in Seattle and out of the media limelight with a coach who knew how to hide his weirdness and obvious massive ego.

I still don’t think Wilson is just some lost case. The Broncos are lunatics if they keep Hackett around though. You can’t let this failed experiment linger. They need to go get a former Seattle coordinator or QB coach or something to call plays and a strong HC with them.

The Seahawks had 3 OC's with Russell Wilson. All started out running their systems and then switched to the system Wilson could run. I'm pretty sure the only hires Denver could make that would "fix" Russell Wilson is one of those 3 guys or Pete Carroll who understood that if you wanted to win with Russell Wilson you had to run the system he could manage.

Better someone else's overpaying problem than us! I also said that about Kirk Cousins . . . Anyway, it wasn't as if the Jets were actually seriously entertaining Russell Wilson at the time, but hey, what kind of a shitpail to hell would we be in if the Jets HAD overpaid Kurt Cousins now that I'm thinking about it. Good God (shudders)!

    Oh, waaaaiiiitttt a minnnnute, I almost forrrrrgot . . . !

    KIRKCOUSINSSSAIDNOOTOTHEJETSOFFFFERRRRR . . ! Bluurrrgh, grrrrmph! :oops:o_O

Whoever you bring in, at whatever level, you want to adapt your system to their particular skills and abilities.

Expecting to mold somebody in your system when they are coming from a different system is just asking for trouble.

We have no idea what happened with Idzik other than he was a bad fit in the Jets culture.

He brought one guy with him and that only in the second season. His value was in the number of relationships he had forged over the years in very successful organizations and for whatever reason he could convince none of them to join him in remaking the Jets.

The Jets had a culture? For an exotic disease maybe. What I meant was that the Brothers Idiot shoved him on Rex Ryan, wish I thought was to your point.

Rex needed a governor, he was just too loose cannon by 2013. The problem is that the changeover from Tannenbaum and Bradway to Idzik and his guy never happened. One of the biggest traps for an NFL ownership is getting really attached to personalities in the building. To be really successful the ownership has to be disconnected from anything but a meritocratic view of the organization. Playing favorites always comes at the expense of at least some degree of success.

Idk man. Does he really wanna tie himself to a division with Mahomes and Herbert?

Cowboys prob a way enticing job if they choke to Tampa in the WC.

I think Sean Payton sits out one more year. I doubt he wants to deal with the Russell Wilson mess including two years of no draft picks in the top 64.

There’s only two situations I’d guess he wants to go to and I doubt the Chargers or Cowboys open up.

If I were Payton, I wouldn't touch the Denver job with a 10 foot long pole. If Russell Wilson really is done, Payton will end up ruining his own legacy too.

Jerry Jones has a weird fetish thing where he is trying to do the same thing with Kellen Moore that the did with Jason Garrett. I find it enjoyable.
