there is no doubt that RB is a need this offseason but since peterson is a top 5 pick and lynch is a top 15 pick, i wonder if we should take a look at micheal bush. does any one know any real information about him that isn't just hearsay or what is written in the papers? anyone watch any of his games last season when he was healthy? i have a feeling that he might be overlisted at 6'3 and he is just 6'1 240 lbs. if that is the case, then the argument that he is too tall for a RB will not be enough to pass on him because there have been successful RBs at that size such as deuce mccalister. also, he i thought he was dominant with speed, powers, and could catch out of the backfield. if he is healthy by season's start, we should definitely take a look at him since his value will be much higher than where we draft him. (willis mcgahee for example)

if we can draft adam carriker (6'6 300 lbs) in the 1st round to shore up the dline, and get bush with the 1st 2nd rounder and then someone like justin blalock (6'4 330) with our 2nd 2nd rounder, we will have gone another offseason getting stronger in the trenches. blalock might become the next shawn andrews from the eagles who they deemed worthy to draft in the 1st round a couple years ago.

I agree with u that all three would be nice additions. Only problem is both bush and blalock will be gone before adam carriker, so if u plan to take bush in the 1st(if hes even still around by our pick) then carriker in the second that would be a nice first 2 picks

I would take Bush on the 37 as long as he demonstrates that the break has healed by the combine. Unlike Willis McGahee the break occurred early in the season so he has a very strong chance to be able to participate at the combine.

I think it's 50/50 whether he goes before the 37 and I would not spend the 24 on him.

Part of me thinks it would be exciting to draft a guy with his potential, but right now I think the D-line needs some help and he is a risk with his height...

That is a definite possibility but I got really excited about all the Clinton Portis for a 2nd rounder talk.

Agreed. I like him at #38, but no earlier. And if we want Carriker, it will have to be at #25. He's has flown under the radar a bit, but once scouts get a look at his size and strength, he will fly up the boards. Once April hits, he might not even last until #25.

Justin Blalock will be long gone by our second 2nd rounder. I loved what I saw from Bush against Kentucky.

i just looked up his stats in 2005 and they were ridiculous. he definitely has a nose for the endzone, something we need so badly once we get inside the redzone. he also can catch the ball out of the backfield which should help out pennington.

also, if we want carriker, he has to be taken with our 1st rounder due to his ridiculous measureables. not to mention he is what we are looking for as kimo's replacement. then we can take bush with washington's second rounder. who knows about blalock because he is suppose to be a tweener OT, OG prospect in the NFL and may drop into the second round. look what happened with mcneil and justice last draft. hopefully for our sake, blalock drops to 57th overall.

How about explaining why you feel that way?

I don't know mush about Bush other than he is very big and has a nose for the endzone so if you know something people like me don't, please share.

Bush sure looks like he could be worth a top of the second round choice,
Only problem is I heard he is going back to Louisville for another year on a medical redshirt !!! (saw it on Consensus Draft services)
Guess he wants to prove he can overcome the injury.

IMO spend that second round pick on Michael Turner !!!

    Must have missed that.
Makes that second round pick very interesting !!!
Do you think we would pick a guy coming off such a serious injury ?

IMHO he is the surest thing as far as a lineman in the draft. Put him at OG and he will muscle people for position and be exactly what our running game needs. You make a good point about Mcneil and Justice though and these things are really difficult to predict.

what about aaron sears. he might be the RT replacement we are all hoping for. and according to this list which doesn't include underclassmen, he can be had at pick 58 which is our 2nd 2nd rounder.

    http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft/tracker/rankedPlayers?draftyear=2007

Strengths: An experienced and versatile offensive lineman prospect. From 2003-'05, he logged 13 starts at left tackle, six at right tackle, four at right guard, and one at left guard. He displays good short-area quickness for such a wide-bodied lineman. Shows good quickness out of his stance and does a good job of reaching the second level as a run blocker. He has the size to engulf smaller defenders at the point of attack. He typically gets in good position and walls defenders off in the ground game. Shows good quickness in his pass pro set. Is a natural knee bender with the lateral mobility to mirror-and-slide effectively.

Weaknesses: Lacks ideal height as an offensive tackle and may fit best at guard in the NFL. He has had some trouble keeping his weight in check in the past. Gets sluggish late in games and begins to lose his range. He has great size but lacks explosive power. Does not seem physical enough and fails to finish defenders off as a run blocker. Has had some minor durability issues in the past -- toe injury and two ankle injuries. He also has a "red flag" for character after admitting to receiving illegal gifts from a furniture store and being forced to return them.

Overall: Sears played in seven games as a true freshman in 2003, earned one start at right tackle against Mississippi State, but left that game with an ankle injury that forced him to miss the next two contests. He started 12 of 13 games in 2004 (held out of the starting lineup vs. Georgia with ankle injury), spending time at both tackle positions, as well as right guard. In 2005 Sears was selected to the All-SEC First Team by the coaches and Associated Press after he started all 11 games and logged time at both guard and both tackle positions.

While Sears' versatility increases his draft value, his best chance of pushing for a starting job in the NFL may be at guard, not tackle. If that's the case, his stock will drop considerably as the draft nears. Regardless, Sears has a fine combination of size and athleticism, which is why he projects as a fringe first-day selection in 2007. Sears has reportedly shed some unnecessary weight and improved his conditioning this off-season. If he shows more explosiveness and becomes more physical during his senior year, as a result, Sears could solidify a spot in the first three rounds.

Because he hasnt played a single down last season? Because he doesnt fit our offense? Have you seen him play? He looks like Shaq out there. He's just too big and not the quickest guy. He just doesnt fit our offense. Thats just my opinion though. I want Turner. The guy is the whole package and he's already proven. You dont know what you get with a guy like Bush who hasnt played a down since 2005
