End the misery for God's sake. No more Rookie QB's, no more washed up Flacco type vets. Go after Carr, Garrappolo or Aaron Rodgers please.
No no no.. We have to let ZW travel the same career path as Geno Smith to avoid another Ex-Jet QB success story.. According to Saleh anyway. 2033 or bust!!
If he really wants Zach to emulate Geno he should let him play this week so he can have a final week hero ball to kill our draft position game that Geno did twice.
Occam's Razor: When there are multiple possible answers to a question, usually the simplest one is correct". When you keep hiring DCs to be your HC, and not at least surround him with experienced, successful, offensive staff, this is predictable. Also, you can't win if you can't score more points than the other team, regardless of how few your defense allows. To boil it down to its essence (and to paraphrase Bill Clinton): It's the offense stupid!".
We clearly don’t know how to scout for QB’s. That needs to change. If this FO is not full on trying to bring guys in that understand how to evaluate a QB, especially the mental game of playing QB, then that’s the end of all I need to know about them. It’s completely unacceptable that they drafted Zach Wilson when we now know how completely unintelligent the kid is about football concepts at the NFL level. If it weren’t for this past draft I’d be pounding the table to fire JD. We need a franchise QB. Until we have one all we’re debating is what level of futility we are.
He’s also thrown 5 TDs in 6 career games under 37 degrees so there’s that. At least he’d fit in well.
Those stats are brutal but we always have multiple QBs start games. For example we have 15 TD passes this year, just split between Wilson, White, and Flacco. We just don't have that one reliable starter. Same as last year. And who could forget the awesome combination of Darnold, Seimian, and Falk?
These are young pups we are dealing with. They don't know any better. Give them time. By 2027, I am sure Zach will get to double digit touchdown passes in a season. Most of them will be to his own team too!
Would rather have Mayfield. Darnold. Minshew, or a combination of the 3 in some form. All young, coachable and improvable QB's. Baker is a knucklehead, but has talent. Darnold is a hayseed and also has talent. These guys can be coached up, and actually play most weeks. Carr is ok, too much $$ though. Garropollo is a hard no from me. Guy's injured when the wind blows.
Doesn’t that make it worse? Having to combine 3 guys to get to that many tds. And if ZW started all of them does he even get to 15? We haven’t had good or even consistent QB play in literally forever. This is a sad sad stat/ realization
