Uh yes. And Kevan Barlow is faster than Ted Ginn Jr.

both will command big money, samuels is coming off a 10 INT season. tied for most in the league. hes on a winning team. and the pats are famous for not offering big deals but im sure they wouldnt be stupid enough to offer him a insultive contract, not to mention thats the kinda team players take paycuts to stay on.

clements is a ego maniac and most of it is deserved since he is a corner who affects not only the pass defense but the run defense.

I think clements is definitely better. if we could sign him to a contract that wouldnt make him top 1-4 contract at his position. then fine. tannenbaum can play the numbers game well and im sure would offer incentives to a player like clements who expects himself to perform.

either way. i wouldnt complain about picking either up. but honestly im coutning on miller to get a solid offseason with mangini and compete to be opposite dyson.

IMO, Samuel's overrated. Clements is the better CB here, although Samuel does have experience in the system. I'd only take Samuel over Clements if he came for cheaper, which probably isn't happening. As said, he almost lost his starting job to a rookie last year, and we all know Mangini was the DC in NE last year who almost did that to him. I trust Mangini on this one; he'll know whether or not Samuel's worth what he's asking for better than anyone.

BTW, I'm fine if we end up staying as-is because our secondary would've looked a lot better had we not had to blitz 8 men every damn play to get pressure. Improving the DL should be much higher on the list than getting a corner.

I like samuels because he is younger and he has familiarity with us and us with him. Contract wise, I would offer him about 2/3 what Ken Lucas got.

I like Samuels A lot better and yes he has better big plays. I live in Buffalo and many of the fans complained on Clements early in the year. He lacked big plays and coverage was iffy. Basically they felt like he was lazy at times. Regardless I think both CB will be getting big pay days. I just wonder if our FO would sign one of these two knowing that it will hit our salary cap. The problem with Samuel is that I doubt the Pats would let him slip into our hands. They will probably franchise him and then trade him like how we did with Abraham.

I'd rather pay 15mil. for a great CB (Clements) instead of 14 mil. for this piece of trash (Samuel).

if we go for either its gonna be samuel because of his relationship with mangini, plus hes younger

makes sense. i guess thats why we're starting poteat over drew coleman. and thats also why we start dyson over miller. and thats also why we decided to sign ty law. because we care so much about getting younger instead of getting better.

The truth is, we probably won't wind up with either one of them. I don't see Tannenbaum and Mangini getting into a bidding war for anybody, and unfortunately, that's what you'll have when both of these guys are available.

even if we don't sign either of them, CB will be a priority.

there's talk of Barrett getting cut; we don't know if Miller will start; and Dyson has been injured in the past, got nicked up towards the end of this season.

no matter what, we need another CB, for depth if nothing else.

    cheers

    1) Ronder Barber is not better than Clements.
    2) Asomougha had a nice season but if you really think that makes him one of the best CBs in the NFL then you should just stick with it. The guy had 3 poor seasons, now he plays well and all of a sudden he becomes a Top 5 CB? I guess last season Vasher was a Top 5 CB, too because of his stats. Now he's average again? Or how about Dunta Robinson? Like i said, one good season doesnt make you a great CB. Lets see if Asomougha can repeat that performance for another 3-4 years. Then could plug him in there but not yet.

you don't want to base things on 1 year alone, yet you say Barber isn't a better CB.

over the course of their respective careers, i think Barber is the better CB.

    cheers

I'd go with Clements if I were choosing between the two, but I don't really want to see them sign either as I don't think corner is that big of a need. With a stronger pass rush, the secondary will improve. I'd rather see them try to hit on something in the draft, which is what I voted for.

1 Year? Have you watched Barber play the past few seasons? He's been solid but thats about it. Not great. Solid. Clements on the other hand was great. and therefore Clements > Barber.
