He's not flipping the narrative because the narrative has been chiseled in granite for most people. Plus we will only see him in preseason. The only way he flips the narrative is if Rodgers gets hurt and he comes in and plays lights out. And let's face it, Rodgers getting hurt would be a doomsday scenario.
Zach was 15-20 for 191 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, and a passer rating of 137.7 in the 2021 preseason. So yeah there's nothing he can do in the preseason to flip the narrative.
Doomsday scenario... lol. Lighten up, Francis... Most teams would be fucked if their starter goes down.
I think the difference is that we have two years of Rodgers and that's it. So if he goes down this year, we'll only have one more chance with him. Whereas if say Josh Allen goes down this year, the Bills still probably have at least a decade more with him.
I wasn't thinking stats... nor was I thinking he'd make people clamor for him to start. You can tell a lot by watching for certain things... pre-snap reads... progressions... ball placement & accuracy. Maybe a complete narrative flip is out of the realm of possibility... I should have not used that phrase. I get it... Zach will never be good enough for most. I'm just looking for him to be a competent back up at this point.
I understand. But my point was that most everyone has made up their mind that he is the worst QB to ever have laced up cleats and nothing will ever change their minds.
If Rodgers gets hurt it's not the worst situation. This season would be toast for sure but it would save next year's 1st. We'd be looking at a new GM,HC, OC and have an early 1st round pick, we've been there before Worst scenario is a mediocre 7-10 where Rodgers plays the 60% with declined/half-assed performance
The Seahawks traded him because he was an ascending QB! I think he will have a better year this year but he won't be anything better than average. And you don't give up that kind of capital for an aging average QB. If you think we gave up a lot for Rogers, just look at what the Broncos gave up for Wilson. https://www.milehighreport.com/2023...awks-russell-wilson-trade-officially-complete
