You summed it up great bro. As you allude to we are going to have to cut a decent WR and S prospect and maybe a RB prospect. Is there no team out there that has a plethora of OL strength and a weakness in our areas of strength including DL?
p/s allows me to put more posters on my ignore list cos of their dumb-ass comments. perfect actually! jajaja!!
Just punishes people the entire game. Finishes his blocks. Had some guys on skates. He was very good last night
I honestly don't think any of the guys getting cut have trade value. Bam is basically a JAG, maybe slightly above that..... maybe. Dean will probably get cut and make his way to the practice squad. He was a UDFA afterall. Same with Gipson. I personally wouldn't trade any of the DLinemen. The only one that makes sense would be Huff, and I love that dude. He's so disruptive and sure, he might be gone next offseason, but he is super valuable in 2023 IMO.
I think Brownlee could make it to the PS. I don't think Gipson would because of his speed and PR ability. I agree that I wouldn't trade any of the DL. I especially wouldn't trade Huff. He is our best pass rusher. If they're serious about trying to get to and win the SB this season, they won't even consider trading Huff.
Unfortunately I missed part of the 1st qtr. and all of the 2nd qtr. so I can't really judge how Zach did. I did see the throw behind the receiver on the short crossing pattern...it's a throw he has to make, and sometimes does, but why he can't do it consistently is puzzling. It's something that he should be able to correct/improve on, and I think he has, but really why isn't this fixed yet? He did have some nice throws - harder ones than that crossing pattern, so it's head scratching what his issue is. More reps are needed I guess. He didn't cost them the game in any case. Boyle started off pretty good, but then really went downhill. IDK if it was the protection, or him not being able to read and get rid of the ball more quickly, but he was under heavy pressure and suffered from it. He looked a lot like Zach did his first 2 years. A little surprising since he's a vet and knows the system, OTOH he's never challenged for a starting position for a reason. The defense really dropped off. I couldn't tell if it was because of heavy substitutions o f 2nd and 3rd string, or what, but they made Trask look like an All Pro. Overall it was sloppy - a lot of penalties! - and boring. If the goal was to "sandbag" the first few opponents, they did a good job. Maybe it was a matter of Saleh wanting to see how the "bubble" guys looked, which is the more likely reason they looked poor. Becton looked very good, and Abanikanda looked good until he got hurt - hopefully it's not serious (I heard it was a contusion, but those can take a long time to heal sometimes, and the way he had to be helped off the field didn't look promising. Fingers crossed). Bottom line: P.S. games are more for coaches to see what they have than for fans looking for wins.

Ashtyn Davis making a play last night. Couple it with Saleh's quote about him, and we may be seeing Davis still on the roster. https://X.com/NFL/status/1693049748582703416?s=20 PFF's top 3 Jets defenders last night: https://X.com/DTereman/status/1693346616969703466?s=20 Saleh's quote: https://X.com/NYJetsTFMedia/status/1693095812912353760?s=20 PFF's top 3 Jets Offensive players last night: https://X.com/DTereman/status/1693346419812253891?s=20
Thanks for the video. My assessment: 1. Crossing pattern to Lazard: Thrown behind him. As the announcer said "It was a layup" and he missed it. He can't miss these, plain and simple. Whatever his problem is with these he needs to fix it. 2. Goes back to pass and then runs and gains a couple of yards. First, I think he might've decided to run too quickly, but once he did he had Knight to his left wide open when the both defenders closed on him. A lateral to Knight would've been a decent gain at least instead of the couple yards he got. 3. Slant to Brownlee: Good read and good pass into a tight window. Similar to the pass to Lazard so again it makes me wonder why he can do it sometimes and not do it others. 4. Out to Brownlee with two defenders on him. I can't see the rest of the field, but wasn't there anyone else open? Not a good decision...again a recurring problem with him. 5. Throw to the left flat. Too low. Although the receiver caught it, he had to go down low for it and wasn't able to just catch it and go. 6. Throw to Lazard on a crossing pattern from the right to the left hash mark about 15 yards. Good read and throw. Hung in under pressure with a rusher grabbing his feet. 7. Throw to Hardman on a short out to the right. On time and on target but defended well. 8. Short dump pass/screen to Knight. Not a difficult throw but one he's had trouble with in the past so improvement there, but Knight couldn't do anything with it. 9. Short out to Brownlee on the left side. On time and on target but Brownlee got closed down quickly by the defense. 10. Pass to Brownlee on right hash about 26 yards. Good read and throw - hit him in stride and on the numbers. 11. QB keeper for 34 yards. Great run. This is something he needs to do more often to keep defenses honest like Allen does. I don't think he did any of these last year, but he did a couple early in his first season before he got hurt and I wonder if that made him gun shy or if the CS told him to not run so much. In any case, it was a good call and execution. 12. Dump off to Abinakanda to the right for maybe a yard. Again, nothing special, but it was accurate which was not something he could do regularly last year. 13. Screen to Knight on the right side. Another "layup" that Zach hit, but it didn't amount to much because TB read it well. 14. Throw to Knight on a short out to the right. Pass was there on time and accurate but Knight dropped it. 15. Attempted pass over the middle knocked down at the LOS. IDK if Wilson could've done anything differently. He had a rusher closing on him from the left and there didn't appear to be any room to step up or escape. So out of the 15 pass plays in this video he had about 5 that were poor or "not good". But he had two or three very good passes plus the great scramble. Overall not a great game, but adding in the passes that he completed that he's struggled with in the past, and it shows solid improvement. I'd give him a C+.
I agree with your analysis, Colorado. I don't know if it's pressure or he gets too excited, but sometimes it just looks like he rushes or hurries too much once he has decided to throw the ball. I don't know if he's working on developing that intenal clock and getting the ball out quickly, but if so, perhaps that's what causes him to rush or hurry when throwing the ball. I hope and I think that once all this new info settles in and he doesn't have to think so much, the game will slow down for him, he will be calmer and allow his talent to take over.
