CNN is reporting 16 dead in multiple shootings with up 50-60 injured so far. Shooter or (maybe shooters) remain on the loose. Information is tentative obviously as is the case with these active shooter events. Here’s the shooter
A bar, bowling alley and Walmart distribution center. Seems like an aimless spree. Pretty good picture of the shooter, so hopefully they already have identification.
He looks like a complete Mainer. Scary this is happening in Lewiston Maine. I traveled up for work there a couple times about ten years back. It is huge space wise and very spread out. I was surprised to see 37k people live there. We will learn more about motive, but I'd be surprised if there was any race angle.
I’m guessing former military, by the way he holds the gun, and by the amount he was able to wound/kill.
Card is a trained firearms instructor believed to be in the Army reserve stationed out of Saco, ME According to law enforcement, Card recently reported mental health issues including hearing voices and threats to shoot up the National Guard base in Saco. He was also reported to have been comitted to a mental health facility for 2 weeks in the summer of 2023.
Someone proficient with firearms with an assault rifle with a scope. If I’m an officer I’m scared and hoping someone else comes across him before I do. Actually I’m hoping he’d kill himself. It would be scary if it was just some random guy working at target or something but doubly terrifying knowing that this guy is tactically trained.
Yes, institutionalized but still had possession of his "AR-15 type" weapon, even after threatening to shoot up his army reserve facility.
Can we please get assault rifles off the market??? I hope the responsible gun owners get behind this and drop the 2nd amendment bullsh*t excuse And dont tell me its a mental health problem because this guy was GETTING help (a lot of ill people wont go for help) Answer>>>Remove the Product from the shelves or wait for one of your family to get gunned down in this lifetime ..just SMH
I mean he was hearing voices in his head and admitted to a mental hospital. Regardless of what you think about guns, that’s the very definition of a mental health problem.
I think most laws are aimed at the initial purchase. Who and how do they come and get them if someone develops mental health issues long after buying the gun?
