It's getting more and more annoying for me as time goes on. It's Seth Rogan trying to be Larry David.
Kinda enjoying Carême on AppleTV. With so few new ideas these days and such lousy writing, it’s pretty unique and refreshing. France’s greatest chef during the Napoleonic Era gets sucked into espionage. The spy thing is mostly fiction but the guy and the setting is real. Preferring watching with subtitles. Some of the dubbed English voices don’t seem to match the characters.
Trainwreck: Poop Cruise on Netflix. Doesn’t deserve either a watch or a mention, except as an annoying disappointment. Don’t get sucked in by the title. A small fire breaks out on a cruise ship, the plumbing backs up leaving half the ship ankle-deep in shit, and 4500 people go home disappointed. There, I saved you an hour. Yawn. First off, the title pisses me off. It should just be “Poop Cruise.” Some hack Netflix executive provided notes thinking “Trainwreck” made it a more compelling. Wrong, genius. Poop Cruise Is like Jerk Store - perfect as Is. Second, it’s an hour-long documentary with no hook. Not that there weren’t opportunities, but they breeze right by anything that resembled an interesting side-story. A Russian chick who makes it clear she’s onboard to fuck anyone who yells Ahoy! A fat, sleazy, ambulance-chasing, maritime lawyer who hovers over his marine radio listening for boating accidents. A bachelorette party; A newlywed couple who christen their marriage on deck amidst the chaos. We get only brief mentions of those. Instead, they give us a handful of boring interviews and manufactured drama. Like, “No! They’re bringing us in to Mobile, Alabama. Not Mobile!!!” Idiots. They had 12 years to do justice to a title like “Poop Cruise” and totally blew it.
Thoughts on the new season of The Bear? Has decent reviews but after a few episodes nothing made me eager to see where it goes next. It’s just chaos after chaos with no payoff.
I've seen a few of that Trainwreck series: Woodstock '99, Cult of American Apparel and Mayor of Mayhem. They all kind of delivered in their own way but the Woodstock one got me pretty riled up, I would like to kick Fred Durst down some stairs after that. I tried watching Poop Cruise but it did not seem engaging at all.
Ahhh. I didn’t know Trainwreck was a series. That’s on me. Although, I still stand by the point where not recognizing the possibilities of a docudrama called Poop Cruise was some loser’s failure.
Fred Durst had nothing to do with it, that's just the type of music he made which pandered to the violent crowd who was getting price gauged and didn't even get clean water available. It was all on the people who hosted it. 100%.
I think the train wreck thing is a series, there’s few. But that one looks really dumb. I’m sure the train wreck- storming Area 51 that’s coming out this week will be equally disappointing
