So, in other words, nothing to do with performance on the field of play or helping win more games than when we had no QB. He was the most overblown misuse of resources for a team reportedly a QB short of a real competitor. Pound per pound, arguably one of the costliest financially and emotional blunders in Jet history.
You got that right. HOWEVER, Squeeler fans are, quite literally, some of the DUMBEST people on the planet. Anyone stupid enough to be lobbying for Tomlin to be fired, for the last 5 years, can't be playing with a full deck. Hell, Jet's fans would KILL for half the success the Squeelers have had. Sick and tired of listening to a fan base WHINE about making the playoffs and being above .500 since forever. A LOT of those years Pittsburg fielded a team of mediocre talent. In a division with Cincy and Baltimore? Yeah, not sure if I would use Squeeler fans as a barometer. Rodgers is a complete moron but, from a talent perspective, he's better than anything they have on that roster. If Tomlin does his thing and Rodgers doesn't act like an idiot the Squeelers will compete for the division.
Yup...Funny to see this team 0-2 in one possession games. Last year we were 2-7 with the Defense and idiot kickers letting us down in 7 of them....but it was all Rogers fault. Should have kept the "diva" SAME OLD JETS
Rodgers was the blame of everyone. That's why Glenn got so much praise for firing him and changing the culture by ridding the team of the diva. Fast forward now Rodgers 2-1 and has a season Glenn 0-3 and the season is over Reality strikes
Lamar Jackson got ahead of him last night, but I bet he'll have more TDs halfway through the season than all of last year on the Jets.
I was just watching the Steeler/Patriot game but am currently suspending the effort due to so many penalties being called I need a break. But AR has looked pretty good so far and threw a Hall of Fame pass to Jonnu Smith for a big first down. Right on the money through multiple defenders. He's not only smart but an exceptional thrower of the football. We'll see if he can hold up physically. I think with him that is the obvious x factor. By NFL standards he just looks like a feeble old man out there.
If we’re going to play this silly game, he’s bottom 10 in yards per game and tied for third highest in the league in interceptions. Yeah he threw 4 wide open touchdowns against us for sure.
Aaron Rodgers is now 2-1 and will probably take his team to the playoffs while we got the Steelers sloppy seconds qb who looked like Zach Wilson game 2 and already got a concussion because he is the teemu version of Michael Vick and depends only on his running ability, who woulda thought this would play out like this?
This just isn't true. Jets fans were aware that he could still play, and that he was a better option, purely as a player, than any QB available, but it just made no sense. He had one or maybe two years left, and there was a new regime in charge of the Jets. His numbers last season were better than most of us can remember from a Jets QB, but even then they were pretty average - it's just that we have put up with such dross at the position for so long. We rolled the dice with him and came up empty handed. There was no point in rolling the dice again for MAYBE one decent season. Time to find a new quarterback, most likely through the draft, and see if we can get it right this time. And there was the cap charge as well. We are already on the hook for a ton of dead cap, keeping him another year would have added to that and hampered us going forward. I'm not going to try and get into that in detail - I watched a YouTube video on it that made it seem like quantum physics, but the dead cap would have gone up if we'd kept him another year. It was time to move on. Getting him wasn't the worst idea the Jets have ever had, but it blew up in our faces with that injury.
