I know they’re a financial juggernaut and won’t actually go out of business, but if they disbanded/raptured/all fell in a sinkhole in Bratislava, what team would you start rooting for?
I'm only rooting for any team because I've been a Jets fan for 40 years. If the Jets disappeared then I would have no reason to continue to root for a "sport" where I question the legitimacy of the results at least four out of five games I watch, no matter the teams playing.
Funny you should mention it - I saw an article that the rapture was supposed to happen yesterday. The guys making those calls have a worse record than the Jets - still waiting for their first victory!
The Giants. Took two superbowls out of the hands of the cheatriots. I was a fan of the Giants before and during Parcells tenure.
I think it would be a victory for everyone involved, but alas, another huge L for rapturites. It would never feel right, but if I had to choose it’d probably be between the Browns (so I’d feel right at home) or the Eagles (green, local, actually win games).
Jets misery is part of who I am. I can’t imagine being a fan of any other team outside of rooting for a team during a game , like knocking a rival out of the playoffs etc. I guess I wound just watch uninvested.
If Jets disappeared I wouldn't follow NFL much. It would drop to MLB level for me and MLB grabs only 10% of my NFL attention. But if I am forced to pick a team, I will go with Colts the team of my 1 year residence in Indianapolis.
Wasn't there a thread a couple of years ago comparing the 10% aspect of the number of games between the NFL and MLB? Chances are you'd end up just as disappointed but it would take a lot of smaller steps into the abyss rather than 17 big ones.
Eagles, given my family in Philadelphia and the fact that it would tie in well with rooting against the Giants, but in reality, nobody - my interest would drop at least to the level of basketball, and maybe even down to the level of college football for me.
I used to like Green Bay as kind of like an honorary #2 team, but not anymore. Maybe Ravens or Lions? I dunno. Honestly if the Jets went out of business or I stopped watching the Jets, I'd probably stop watching football as a whole.
My dad's a Packers fan. My brother in law is a Eagles fan. My wife allegedly is a Pats fan (she just bandwagoned while she went to law school in New England). Everyone else is a Steelers fan. I'd lean Packers. Fuck Philly and all things Philly. Can't pick another AFC East team. And as much as I'd like to root with my mom's side of the family, there's just something off about the Steelers franchise that rubs me the wrong way. Sent from my SM-S938U1 using Tapatalk
They won’t go bust .. But I went to my last game against Denver at home in the rain last Season and wasted high priced seats with my son (a Giant fan) to see Jets lose We need at least 100 thousand fans not buying season tickets or an empty stadium for every home games to send the NFL a message to somehow replace ownership
