Not picking up blitzes is not always on OL. I also thought OL is decent. But the first half was continuation of TB game, where we could not pick up the blitz for the life us. Offense gained 400+ yards, plus refs took away a TD as missed many calls in our favor. I really didn't think QB was the problem, this was a solid game by Fields.
We fumbled at the 1 yard line and had a TD pass taken away by a phantom offensive PI call. I think the CS has to trust Fields more. We’re losing anyway might as well lose trying to win.
And when they did, he did pretty well. Stats are also not bad. We have to watch all 22, but it's pretty hard for me to call QB an ass when he ended up with #s Fields had and on top of it refs took away a TD.
Fields definitely wasn’t the problem but he’s just not a good QB. Hes a bad thrower of the ball and thst affects the way a team plays and an OC calls plays. Look no further than this stat: https://x.com/sharpfootball/status/1972853441686118794?s=46&t=eaLIxbRmBqelegocbpHIVQ “Justin Fields has led his teams to an 0-25 record when opponents score at least 21 points 0-25 Fields is the ONLY winless QB out of 46 QBs in this sample over the last 5 years with at least 10 starts made” That tells you just about all you need to know. You have to play with a lead at all times if you want to have even a little success. And we are not built to do that. This was always the likely outcome with Fields. There’s a reason two other teams arrived at the same conclusion.
You're right, but I think even if it was Parcels, it would take time. No team becomes a winner overnight unless you get lucky with a QB.
big time!! in addition to Fields’ horrendous fumble tonight he’s so fucking slow processing the field. Look these sacks are coming late, 99.9% of NFL QBs already have the ball out and Fields is getting sacked then were down 2 scores late in the 3rd quarter, it’s 3rd and 6 and they can’t trust the QB to complete a pass, they have to call a run play the Jets win that game tonight with Tyrod Taylor and it’s time to get serious with Fields. Nice kid, I’m sure, maybe he can date your daughter, but he’s a bad QB
Parcells held his staff to a high standard as well as his players. I'm still looking for that out of Glenn.
We lost 7 points on that fumble, 4 points because of the refs, and another 3 points when AG went for it on 4th and 5 when we should have just kicked a FG. This was a 30+ point output, especially when you consider yardage gained, but due to refs and stupidity we ended up with a lot less than we should have. Fields I thought looked good when given an opportunity.
It’s an accurate one. Falling for the box score and the long runs is exactly how a team as stupid and inept as the Jets ends up thinking he might be an NFL QB. He is not.
I don't think he's a bad QB, just don't think he's good enough to overcome all the other problems on the Jets.
We had over 400 yards of offense to their 300 and had what amounts to 2 TDs taken off the score board via fumble and bogus penalty.
yes, the other relies on getting psyched about garbage time stats, I’ve had enough of that. Fields is Zach Wilson, running backwards, holding onto the ball too long His slow processing is fucking the offensive line who can’t rely on him to stand in and throw it, it’s fucking the wide receivers who have to run their route and then STOP and wait for him to throw it. The whole timing and planning of the offense is broken because of Fields
Look, I think we had bigger problems than Fields today… Allen fumbling on the 2 yard line going in and then the D giving up a 95+ yard drive just basically crushed the game, but the amount of penalties, and stupid unforced ones like pre snap, was out of fucking control. The Refs were beyond brutal…they literally did not call two personal fouls that were blatant and obvious and would have been called any other game (out of bounds on Fields, and late hit on Ruckert when he was on the ground) and that total BS call on GW The defense letting guys run wide open yet again, the lack of any pressure on Tua, the lack of hustle in missing fumbles on the ground, just a bad day, and worse than the straight stats may show But Fields, despite his nice 100+ rating and 70%+ completion rate, wasn’t great…he still misses guys, he still holds the ball too long, and he fumbled on one of those times where he held the ball too long. Can you win some games with him playing like this and like he played in week 1? I don’t know, maybe you can if the rest of the team doesn’t shit the bed like we’ve done, but he is just not a good enough passer to be your starting QB. He doesn’t elevate anyone. And if we’re trying to come from behind, he’s not really the guy to be able to do that unless he breaks out a crazy run I think coaching has been terrible…for all of AG’s bluster about discipline and accountability, there is ZERO of either on the field…Allen fumbles at the 2 and is the next guy to touch the ball. Like WTF. Parcells would have him on the bench for the next few weeks. Lazard was good for his weekly false start today, and he is also good for a few holding calls as well…why is he playing? Why not give Smith a try? We drafted him, at this rate may as well see what we have? So I wasn’t happy with the HC hire and now counting 4 weeks, I haven’t seen anything to change my mind. So yeah, there is a TON of shit wrong with this fuck all of a team, but Fields while maybe not the biggest issue today, also isn’t part of the solution
