Tua 5-0 against us in his career is madness. Tack that on to Miami being 9-0 against us at home and it’s even more embarrassing. Pray it ends but I don’t think it will.
according to the pregame show on the radio, that’s the case. You might be thinking of when we kicked Skylar Thompson‘s ass after we knocked Teddy Bridgewater out on the very first play of the game. I do remember a pick six off of him but we may have lost that game

I'm not one to bitch and moan about the referees because a lot of the complaints about them can go either way and the team needs to be prepared to have a few close ones go against them every week, but the later part of the game was just plain awful tonight and I expect to see the league address some of the things later in the week. First was the Wilson TD called back because he pushed off - it was called incomplete originally but when the referee made the announcement of the penalty he said the on field call was a touchdown. With the replay showing Wilson and the defender coming towards the camera it's tough to see if the defender was actually deterred by the push but I didn't see his head or upper body move backwards as a result or have the separation increase. This one may have gone either way but the next most egregious calls definitely had an impact on the outcome of the game. First was throwing Fields down way out of bounds without a flag, having crossed the white area, then a green painted area and finally going down on a green tarp, at least 5-6 yards off the field of play. Next was the receiver (possibly Ruckert or Taylor) on the ground after picking up a first down around the thirty steamrolled by a Dolphin coming from behind the play, clearly late and not in a position where his momentum would have taken him there. And then Tippman getting a "hands to the face" three times in the same play with no penalty that would have offset a Jets penalty on the same play - the first knocking his helmet off and the next two that were swats to his chin after the helmet was gone, the play was behind him and probably over. Woody Johnson needs to step up and take a Jerry Jones financial penalty Tuesday morning - he can afford it. If he can't bring himself to make a strong enough statement, he needs to have his brother make the call, or maybe his kid but someone has to and make it loud!
My main takeaway from this game was just disbelief that we're still getting killed by the exact same things that have killed us for years. Pre-snap penalties. Can't pass. Don't get turnovers. We're extremely stupid (a fair catch at the 2?!). We don't have enough good pass catchers. We don't throw screens as a response to getting killed by the blitz. It's just dumbfounding. We legitimately never learn. I can't fathom how an organization can be this clueless for this long.
This is an excellent synopsis. I've added numbers to your list so I can reference them. I think we can group 1, 4, and 6 together under the heading "We're extremely stupid." 2 and 5 go together--for whatever reason, we never have a half-decent passing game. And the passing game is basically modern football since like the 80s. Especially awful when you consider we are the JETS. Jet planes. Flying through the sky. Finally, 3 is a weird one. We just don't, ever, and what is the explanation for this? For example, in this game, I think there were 5 fumbles, 2 by one team and 3 by the other, and Miami recovered all 5. Like, wtf? And this is totally standard for Jets games.
Regarding the lack of turnovers - do our coaches teach our defenders to punch the ball out? I watch other teams and defenders are flying around like maniacs delivering haymakers to the ball whenever possible. I feel like I never see our guys do that.
Good point. I felt like there was an opportunity at the end too, when Miami was trying to run out the clock, Quinnen Williams made a great play to stuff Achane in the backfield, since Williams had him in his grasp, the other guys shoudve been punching like hell at the football especially since that was the only chance we had. And They didn’t
Maybe because we keep hiring rookie DC’s as head coaches and pair them with rookie OC’s…they are in over their heads and this is a BIG mess to clean up. So what happens? We can’t develop QBs or OLs or WRs, and we get into this “well we have to tear it all down” cycle We can blame Woody
Should the Jets bring back the offensive inspired and experienced head coach Adam Gase? How did he do with the offense? What about the defense? I guess Boyer did okay on Special Teams - maybe Gase is actually a half decent administrator.
That returner from Lions (Williams?) is awful. A big downgrade from Gipson if that is even possible. Slow as hell, lost a fumble, and had that retarded fair catch at the 2. There is no way he should be on the roster by next weekend, just no way.
Yeah see now this is what I’m sure idiots like Woody are thinking and it’s a damn stupid argument. EVERYONE knew Gase was a shit coach and a fraud. He rode Peyton’s coattails and used that to claim some kind of offensive knowledge when it was clear that Peyton made Gase and not the other way around…hmmm…just like Rodgers made Nate Hackett and not the other way around. But back to the point, Gase was a TERRIBLE hire and most everyone knew it. He failed spectacularly in Miami and alienated that team…there was NO reason to hire him the day after he was fired. None at all. I don’t recall anyone on here jumping for joy when we hired him. But that shouldn’t be the poster boy for not hiring offensive guys…though I’m sure Woody looks back on it and says well gee I did hire an offense guy and he didn’t do well either so let’s go back to defense guys! The point is, we have a team that has had shit offense for decades outside of 2015, and we have drafted QBs high, including 3 in the top 5 of the draft with Sanchez, Darnold, and Wilson, and we throw them into bad teams with bad OL’s and bad WRs and we have these defensive coaches that don’t know how to identify and develop QBs. Only 4 games in, but I don’t get the feeling that AG will know any better how to develop a QB than the other defensive guys before him. But sure, let’s keep trying the same shit and hope that THIS time it’ll finally work
Jets are now 2-10 in MNF games over the last decade or so - which I believe is the worst record in the NFL
As soon as I saw the end of that opening drive you just knew "here come the Same Ol' Jets" and so it was - loads of penalties, fumbles, no turnovers (and god forbid they make an interception - Jets have the worst turnover differential in the NFL), never make the crucial stop, throwing game ineffective, offense never gets going until it is garbage time One thing that drives me mad is when they score in garbage time then try to argue that it was a close game or take it as some kind of moral victory - the only thing that matters is 0-4 and we don't even have a rookie QB that we are developing to pin some hopes on - there is literally nothing positive about this team for me at the moment. At least I am largely numb to the losses now - I can still just about recall the stress of a loss in 2009/2010 when it felt like every game mattered - now no games matter as you never get the feeling this is a team that has a shot of doing anything post-season (or even making it to the post-season).
