It was an OK performance by a QB the coaching staff doesn’t trust. The coaching staff should let him prove their lack of trust is warranted. We have Tyrod in the wings if they are right.
Hell of a catch by Wilson. We had to run the play twice in a row because Fields didn’t throw it the first time. Idk what Miami was doing. They are 1-3 for a reason, they aren’t smart either
So? If it was any other team or QB, you would say it was smart to go back to the same play against the same look where you missed throwing the ball to your #1 WR against single coverage. Note Wilson did not win in either play. The catch was great because Wilson was blanketed. Fields gave him a chance. That’s what you do when you are paying a WR $30M a year or any no name WR being defended by our corners.
On some plays yes, and it's fine to take advantage of that, but both TDs that should have counted were not at 1st down marker. Listen, I get you don't like Fields, but he was the least of our problems tonight. You are being disingenuous and completely full of shit to include him as the main reason for loss. I am way more concerned about AG at this point.
I am not even sure they don't trust him, it's just that running the hell out of the ball is their "brand of football". In the 4th they had to pass more, and Fields did well. To me, this is a plus game by Fields overall. No we did not get the result, which is more on AG, but offensively we should have had 11-14 more points, taken away by refs, Allen's fumble right as he was to cross, and also not going for the 3. ST TO also took a possession away. Not sure why is everyone all over Fields' ass tonight, he was not the problem.
Running the ball on 3rd and long down by 2 scores screams of lack of trust in your QB and passing game. There’s no way to sugarcoat it.
It's their "brand of football". Did you hear AG say at halftime, we play our brand of football, we will be fine.
Something has to give here. Either you bench Fields or stop trying to play like you have Jared Goff back there. personally I would opt to bench Fields because I don’t want to stunt the development of these offensive tackles/ young line in general. You just get someone decisive to get the ball out and everyone improves for next year but if you really wanted to you could throw the playbook out, run a crap load of plays where Fields is never in the pocket and always rolling out so he can take his time thinking about where he wants to throw or run with it at 0-4 why bother with that
…or option C. You give Firelds the rope to hang himstlf. He will either confirm your suspicions or surprise you. At 0-4, what do you have to lose?
That’s fair but they are also finding out who the keepers are and who needs to go. This goes for coaching staff and players.
The Jets are a one dimensional team right now... all we do remotely well is run the ball. The OL was fine... and would have looked way better if Fields could get the ball out in a timely manner. He doesn't throw until he sees a receiver open... no anticipation whatsoever. He was late on too many throws. And he doesn't trust the pocket... instead of stepping up he retreats right to where the tackles are blocking defensive linemen too. Shades of Zach Wilson... Miami is a shit team... we should have won handily... but Jets. Dallas is gonna whoop our ass...
No joke Dallas put up 40 on the Packers…they can drop 50 on our shit D easy…it ain’t gonna be pretty And then after that we have to go up against that Denver D…they will smother us for sure…we may not get 100 yards total in that game
Fields was also a big reason we had all those pre-snap penalties. Not sure what happened to him in the second quarter but the illegal motions and such as his fault. He also completely fucked up both Membou and Fashanu on the same play because he and Myers weren’t on the same page with his weird double leg kick silent count in front of that raucous crowd of 22,000 Miami fans. That left a free rusher unblocked and a doomed play from the start.
Find me the post where I said he was the main reason for the loss please. I can find you a few where I specified he wasn’t. You can pretend this is about me not liking Fields but the reality is he’s an issue and unless you’re staring at the box score with rose colored glasses, its not really that hard to see.
