Why would they regret it? You can get a ticket to any game and have been able to since the day the new stadium opened. I was a STH up until Metlife stadium, I have no regrets giving them up. The way I see it, I’ve saved myself over $30k.
No reason to keep season tickets at all for this reason. I guess if they turn into a Patriots type 20-year dynasty the people who kept them will be happy. Otherwise, a couple playoff appearances isn’t going to force fans to pay much higher than market value on stubhub to the point where season tickets make financial sense.
Yeah, my cousins who kept their dad's seats since 1984..... would've had to pay 4x the price they were paying per ticket, on top of 40G worth of PSLs...
I don't know how much the Jets charge for season tickets. I've never been a season ticket holder. I'm guessing they charge $200 per game so $1,600 per season ticket? In the 300s? Plus first dibs for playoff games and Super Bowl? I thought about contacting a Jets rep about buying a season ticket in the 300s 50 yard line but if it's a crazy number like $4k for 8 home games I can see why people are giving them up.
Because many have PSLs and are being held over a barrel. This is the biggest scam perpetrated upon the sports public in the history of sports.
sooooo many left when they built the new piece of shit stadium and they realized it was about money and never about the actual fans. id be interested to see how many seasons are owned by resellers because of the new shit stadium and horrible pricing and experience. this will break more of the season ticket holders. its just not worth it. bad team, bad experience, fucked up the whole tailgate situation, never the same people around your seats, terrible sightlines pushed back horribly, terribly far away. the whole thing is gross and woody is making it so that an entire generation of fans dont follow or care about the jets. its fucking sad
Now that the Giants are good they will get their own stadium and leave us the shit air conditioner and Woody will spin it as Jetlife. That will be the ultimate insult.
Yes they are But 2 wins over quality opponents (LAC and Philly), and really should have won both the Saints and Denver games except a rookie QB threw picks in both of those games…that is just rookie QB growing pains that stand out but you can already see that Dart can play. And not that I’m playing the “should’ve won” game, because really they didn’t, but they were much closer than anything we’ve done
Lol, understood but I would rather be 2-5 with hope than 2-5 with none. They play every game competitive without their stud WR. They will follow the path of other teams that hit on the QB, they already have a stud WR and a good fun RB so they will invest heavily in OL and defense (the DL is already nasty). Then they will be perennial playoff participants with a glimmer of hope at a SB every year for the next decade. This will prompt the owner and fan base to push for a new stadium to go along with their new identity as contenders. That is what hope looks like, that is something Jets fans haven't had in years and probably never will as long as Woody is in charge.
I'm out on all NYJ related anything until they get it together. I'm no longer even watching the games. What's the point? Everyone should stop investing money in this team until they start taking things seriously and act like a damn professional team for once.
We lost 2 games on last second field goals. One was over 60 yards and was a record at the time. How do you consider the giants losses closer?
The Steelers game yes we were in it and “should have” won it The others not so much The Giants lost to the Cowboys in OT and then the Saints and Denver yesterday on picks…the Cowboys was Russell and the other two were a rookie QB making his first several starts. We are losing with a QB who’s sucked for years. You can have your own opinion, and if you watch both teams and say we’re the same as the Giants then have at it…I don’t think we are
I never said the jets were close to the Giants. I will say the flowers they are getting are a bit extreme and I have been watching their games. They did not deserve to win against the cowboys or saints. They should have won yesterday. Dart looks good, but it's been 4 games. He's been playing above his stats, but he's also had a lot of bad throws, turnovers and sacks. He also is going to get killed the way he is paying. The crowning is a lot right now.
Agreed on Dart…still way early and agree that he throws too many picks and he’s going to get killed the way he runs and takes hits. However, I will say that those are not unusual growing pains and normal development for rookie QBs. It is WAY different than what we are seeing from Fields. Dart looks like a QB who “gets it” and needs to clean up a bunch of stuff, especially around picks. Fields looks like a guy who has NO CLUE what the QB position is about. They are NIGHT AND DAY different…And Fields has been doing this for 4+ years! If you gave me the choice between the two I’d take less than one second to choose Dart. And it’s not even close. As to the Cowboys and Saints games, I don’t know about “deserve” to win, but they were in those games, leading late and got some turnovers from their QBs We have not been in the same position…we’ve been blown out almost every game and made it close late when the other teams loosened up their defense. The only game where I would say we “should have” won is that Steelers game…we had that and couldn’t hold it and lost on a 60 yard FG. That should have been a win. The other games we were not the same…The Denver and Carolina games were close in terms of score but they weren’t as close as the score would indicate.
Say what you will about the Jets, they have never given up 33+ points in single quarter. Dart might be good, he might not be. Let the dude play more than a season before judging him.
I think new York is so desperate for a winner, in anything, that the media and fan base overreact to a level that is detrimental... both positively and negatively. The Giants and firing Glenn are good examples of each. If I was a big time free agent, I'm not sure i would want to play here because of that if the money is the same. It's impossible to take out the other stuff, like the jets being a hot mess of an org, but i think you see it across the sports landscape already. Most guys will take similar money to play somewhere with less scrutiny.
