What an absolute dumbass imbecile. It's hard to believe what I am hearing, it really is. Isn't it exactly what he said defending Bob just about a year ago? He is just incapable of learning, even from his own mistakes. Yes, the QB sucks, but the coach sucks too!!! Can you even consider that possibility after it literally just happened with Bob? Yes it is hard to win with these QBs, but literally every coach that ever had either one of them won more than Glenn. Total cretin, who never learns, a complete moron.
Woody is so easy to hate He just does not get it. He never will. So many questions should have been thrown right back at him when he said that about no coach winning with QB play like that, starting with: 1. Uhm, dumbass, the Steelers were what, 4-2, with him? Explain that, asshole. 2. If you feel that way about Fields, why do you not look AG and Mougey in the eye and blame them for specifically bringing him in? Woody is just such an imbecile…it’s hard to put into words how much we hate him and how stupid he is.
I think that's the prevailing theme. I remember he was completely shit-faced by the 4th overall pick during the 2022 draft.
Well, he isn't wrong. It sure would have been nice if one of the assembled gaggle of media reminded Johnson that he hired the people who were responsible for signing a quarterback that can't throw though.
Essentially, they just cut Justin Fields. No way they can bring him back even in the event of a catastrophic injury to Taylor
Does cutting him free up ANY money in 2026? I am finding conflicting answers or this question from various online sources.
Stop. Stop making excuses. The man is certifiably stupid. What you saw in that interview is what we’ve seen from him time and again. What you saw in that interview is the level of intelligence he brings to everything he’s done with this organization, and is exactly why we are where we are today.
Agreed, but what we saw yesterday was the everyday Woody. Maybe the everyday Woody is drunk 24/7, but what we saw, the lack of intelligence, the mealy mouth wording of things, the unprofessionalism, that’s precisely who Woody is and always has been, drunk or otherwise.
calm down. He is stupid if he is a 79 year old alcoholic. That is my point. I wasn’t making any excuses
Pittsburg: "I hear the Jets want Justin" <laughter> Pittsburg: "HEY! Let's pretend we want Justin back so the Jets offer him a shit ton of cap space!!!!"
We still have Rodgers on our books in 2026 for 35m in dead money, of course there will be dead money for Fields. What’s funny is we pushed off that 34m of Rodgers total 49m cap hit so we could have room to sign Fields for 30m. Just a friendly reminder that Jameis Winston was signed for 2 years, 8m with incentives that could’ve pushed it to 16m total. Winston is a far more proven QB and a hell of alot better lockerroom presence. There was absolutely no precedence to hand 30m to Fields. Hell, Russell Wilson was 1yr 10.5m. Who the fuck were we competing with on Fields to justify handing him 3x the pay of a former SB winning QB.
He isn't but he has hung the kid out to dry in front of the NFL world. This makes Woody a massive cunt, not something we didn't know already.
It wasn't much of a mystery to the NFL world. Which sounds more ridiculous... Saying Justin Fields is having a decent year OR.. Saying Justin Fields can't complete a pass.. Frankly, Woody should have stayed out of this PUBLICALLY and let Glenn know its time to make a change at QB. Putting Fields on blast pretty much closes the door on his Jet tenure. All that's needed now is to either trade for a Qb OR activate Brady Cook. Either way, I highly doubt Fields sees the field again in a Jet uniform.
Based on Rodgers account of their meeting, I’m hanging it on Glenn. Fields fits exactly what Glenn wants, a non threatening personality. Glenn was giddy to stick it to Rodgers, there’s no way he was going to allow for any kind of veteran at the position that could possibly challenge him.
Here’s a brilliant idea- say nothing and hire competent FO employees and coaches. Idea number 2- if you have to say anything because you just can’t help yourself, say the performance has been unacceptable and everyone needs to step up and be held accountable to do better. Period. That’s all he had to say. It would have held much more weight with the players and coaches.
