The Jets are doing the smart, right thing for once. My only concern is they take one of the QB's this year to build around instead of next year. These QB's suck.
Q is still about a year away from the defensive tackle cliff where production and effectiveness falls off but he’s close enough to the point where it makes sense to move on.
Agreed, unfortunately. For that haul, absolutely. I kinda dont get it at all for the Cowboys but that's what Jerry does.
I am not happy about this one as I was about the Gardner trade but it's still a decent deal. Williams is not what some people make him out to be. He's had ONE really good season in his 7-year career. What the hell are the Cowboys doing though? Does Jerry really think they are going somewhere?
Can build quality impact players through the next two years. Of course in Jets world, we suck in drafting but this is about to change.
Also got DT Mazi Smith in return. Don't know anything about him but he was a first round pick in 2023 so there might be some talent there.
I’ve been saying for years a top tier DT and CB on a crappy team are useless. You don’t build around them, especially when they’re into their second huge contract. Honestly this is the first sign I’ve seen in well over a decade that we have a competent GM
I tried to do this a long time ago - but - can I trade my Jets fandom, and become the fan of another team??
What did we get in return? Quinnen was good but not a difference maker. If it is for a 1st and a 2nd I will be happy. Clearing cap space too. I like it. But what are the full terms I wonder.
Another good move. Overpaid for what he produced. No evidence he was a culture-changer. Good player, good guy, good fit for Cowboys potentially. Jets got good value for him IMO.
Sad to see him go and I don't feel great about the trade, but it's a solid haul at least. Now 3 1st round picks in 2027 and 2 next year. And you get a recent 1st round pick flier so there's talent, but if PFF is an indication, he's been bad so far.
