Back on the defense and why an 8 game sample size isn't accurate... Since week 5 Brandon Stephens is the top rated CB and Brownlee is the 5th ranked CB per PFF. Obviously PFF isn't worth a ton but something you have to take into consideration when talking about the big picture.
I’m not even going to pretend that my expectations Or that it will all work out. All I’m trying to do is objectively look back on the first eight games.
If the Ravens miss the playoffs and move on from Harbaugh (unlikely), Woody Johnson better back up the Brinks truck to get him here.
No coach wants to come here. We're a laughing stock organization, from the top on down to us fans. The revolving door has to stop. Our best chance is to stick with Glenn and see if he learns from his mistakes. The key for the rest of the season will be whether the team plays hard - that's a reflection on the coaching staff.
I agree - these picks in no way help us lure an experienced head coach worth a damn. Any really good HC has their pick of available jobs and the Jets would be on the bottom of everyone’s list. We basically need about 45 roster upgrades. A handful of picks isn’t going to make much of a difference. This team is 3 - 5 years from sniffing the playoffs.
Totally disagree on the picks not being any help…5 first round picks in the next two years I think is a huge incentive However, I do agree that this is a shit destination with a clueless owner who doesn’t know shit and always seems to decide to meddle at the worst possible time and always making the wrong move Would be interesting to see if those picks is enough to offset the stink of Woody…however, knowing Woody I don’t think we’ll get the chance to find out
Sorry to say but I hope there are less Jets fans at games and more opponents fans filling the seats …the entire world must realize that this entire organization is inept from owner coach GM scouting trainers etc and garnishing a few more draft picks is just a band aid (made by Johnson & Johnson…the uber successful part of the family name lol) on cancer I want total humiliation of Woody so he throws in the towel and another billionaire buys him out That’s the only answer Get ready to be embarrassed by the Browns ..I doubt anyone will play hard for AG and now we have less talent on the roster post GM trades
Woody couldn't give 2 fcks WHO's fans are in the seats as long as there are fans in the seats. Thing is, the roster has just been put on notice that the FO/CS isn't afraid to trade anybody regardless of status or contract. So, if players want to pout and not play hard? They won't be here in '26 as it should be. All those DP's gives this team incredible flexibility when restocking this underperforming roster. Judging by the return on those 2 trades, I would say Mougey might be the best GM in the bldg. since Tannenbaum. Glenn OTOH, has to learn how to be a CEO/HC. HC isn't a plug and play position as it requires years of decision making and organizational acumen. That only comes with either having done the job before or as in Glenn's case, learning the job while doing the job. What you've seen so far is what OJT looks like. Because Woody only hires newbies, this is what it is. Glenn eventually will learn how to do the job OR he will be fired. Mougey I think will be our GM for a long time. Looking at the returns so far on his 1st year, we got ourselves a GM finally. This season is already over as far as contending. The Jets aren't playing for '25, they're playing for '26 and '27. Doesn't really matter what happens on Sunday against the Browns as the game in itself is meaningless except for the guys playing for next year's roster spot. Fields cheated the hangman 2 wks ago but that's not gonna be enough to secure his roster spot. Glenn showed a lot by getting in Tanner's ass and made him open up the playbook. Now he's gonna have to do the same with Wilks. This is again, all part of becoming the HC of the NYJ's.
I thought I had gone full darksider lol, either way I agree to a point. This is the lowest I can remember being on this team, still I feel like it's just above rock bottom. Part of me wants to just see it collapse the rest of the way just to bring more attention to Woody and this shit hole franchise. More for me it's so that there is even an inkling of a possibility we can get a new coach this off season, these moves definitely bought Glenn time but can he really survive a 1 or 2 win season? If he continues to lose games ny making terrible decisions and is combative with the press while losing every week I don't see it. I have far more faith in the ineptitude of Glenn bottoming out and getting canned then I do him succeeding.
